The candidate should be a pass in 10+2 examination from recognised board/university with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, or Biology.

There are exceptions or exemptions for the 60% eligibility requirement for admission to B.Sc. in Fashion and Lifestyle Technology at Panjab University. A 5% concession is admissible in eligibility marks to SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates. Additionally, candidates who have studied Fashion Design/Fine arts subjects in 10+2 will be given a 10% weightage in the total marks scored.

For reserved category students, the admission criteria for M.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry at Panjab University includes:
- Passed B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry from Department of Chemistry, P.U.
- B.Sc. (Pass or Hons.) examination with 50% marks from PU or any other University recognised as equivalent thereto with Chemistry in all the three years/six semesters or any two Science subjects during two years/four semesters during graduation.
- B.Sc. (Hons.) in any subject under Choice-based Credit System with 24 Credits in Chemistry as Generic Elective Subject.
Additionally, candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/PwD category must have a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying degree.

To apply for M.Pharm. in Pharmaceutics at Panjab University, candidates must have 55% marks in B. Pharm. from PCI/AICTE approved Institutions/ Universities with a valid GPAT score. The course duration is 2 years with 17 seats available. The fees for the course are approximately Rs. 31,415 per annum for regular students and $4,275 + $1000 + Rs 10,650 + Rs 50,000 per annum for NRI students.

Admission to M.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology at Panjab University is based on the following criteria:
- Students who have passed B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology from Panjab University are eligible without an entrance test.
- For other students who have passed B.Sc. in Biotechnology, admission is based on the entrance test (PU-CET-PG) conducted by Panjab University and UG merit.

To apply for M.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology at Panjab University, students who have passed the B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology examination from Biotechnology Department, Panjab University are eligible for admission without an entrance test.
