M.A. in Defence and National Security Studies - Batch of 2026

Great exposure to strategic and military concepts, with defence-oriented events & valuable learning.
Placements: Placement for Defence students are limited. But several students secured their roles in think tanks, policy research institutions, media, civil services, and the army. The recruiting companies are CDS, Air Force, Navy, DRDO, Professor, Researchers, etc. Top roles offered are defence analyst, colonel, and content writer and in the army.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and Wi-Fi are decent and have projectors for better understanding. The library has helpful resources for research. Hostels are clean, but have small rooms, and the mess food is average. Medical facilities are available on campus, and there are decent grounds for sports, a gym, and a swimming pool for students.
Faculty: The faculty is well-qualified, with a mix of academic and defence backgrounds. Teachers are approachable, helpful, and very friendly. The curriculum is theory-heavy but relevant for students preparing for civil services and mostly about geopolitics, India's national security, etc. Semester exams are moderately difficult, with a pass percentage above 85%.
Other: I chose this course due to my interest in national security, defence services, and my passion for the army. The best part is the exposure to military strategy, geopolitics, and current affairs. More field visits, guest lectures from experts, and practical training would improve the course. Our department organizes a large and well-managed event, Kavach, where army personnel are invited. They showcase their weapons and teach students about them, which is a fun event. This department also provides scholarships for SC/ST students and provides rewards for competitions and activities.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - Batch of 2024
Offered by DAV College, Chandigarh

3Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
College is the best in Chandigarh.
Placements: 30% of students got placements. The highest package was 10 LPA. 40% of students got internships but mostly students did not get any opportunity for jobs which may be their fault on campus. Overall, the college is the best and I will recommend it to everyone.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of college was best. But one thing there was no proper drinking water. The classrooms were neat and clean but there were no ACs in the classrooms. Even in the college canteen which was very disappointing. There must be ACs in classroom and canteen.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful. They even helped students off duty too. The curriculum was very good, it made us industry-ready. There were total four exams in 2 semesters, one of class test and another one was at university level. The passing percentage was 30%.

MBA in Hospital Management - Batch of 2022
Offered by University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University
2.6
2Placements3Infrastructure3Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life2Value for Money
Waste of time and money for doing the course in MBA Hospital Management
Placements: There are no placements for hospital management and even internships are also funded by themselves, no support from faculty and even if there are placements, which are only done for their teachers favourites and internal marks are also given to their favourites, who satisfy their needs and egos Package is zero as no placement are provided by them and their syllabus has many loopholes as compared to other top MBA colleges
Infrastructure: Average to below average facilities provided by them. Ac doesn?t work in summer season Computer lab are most often locked and Wi-Fi for show off don?t work Hostel are good only few though but not all,Canteen food was good but overpriced Toilet are worse than govt hospital
Faculty: There 2 teachers for hospital sector, but only one teaches properly and another one the female teacher doesn?t give a damn and only comes class to gossip about her own family problems with students and favours only her favourite?s student and don?t bother about other than her favourites. Semester are easier to pass but there are loopholes in their syllabus Curriculum is not that relevant as what is needed in corporate hospital It doesn?t make students industry ready even hospital HR laugh at you when they hear you are from uiams Placement coordinator doesn?t bothered about hospital sector students he only focus on other sector like retail banking etc Pass percentage is between 70-75 if you are teacher favourite then you will be scoring higher in %.
Other: If you want join for PU name status then it is good but if you seriously want to study here for growth in career then you will be wasting parents money. As there are no placements, only teachers pets or favourites get good internal marks.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) - Batch of 2025
Offered by Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh
3.8
2Placements5Infrastructure4Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
My journey at a postgraduate government college for girls.
Placements: Placement at my college is not very good. Yes, they do have a placement cell, but it does not provide any high-package placements. Only a few small companies and institutions visit the college to hire students, with only around five students getting placed. I would not recommend this college if you are looking for high-package placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is one of the best things about this college; it is very well maintained. The washrooms are large and clean, the canteen is very spacious, and the hostel provides facilities such as a library, gym, sports room, meditation room, and computer room. The hostel is good.
Faculty: The faculty here is excellent. They are all very educated and extremely experienced, with almost every member holding a Ph.D. degree. They focus on the syllabus and impart knowledge. They are gentle and very down to earth. Exams are held in an organized manner, and overall, the faculty is nice.
Other: Fests are organized throughout the year, but the main fest is held only once a year.

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) - Batch of 2026
Offered by Sri Guru Gobind Singh College
3.2

Supportive core faculty, but let me down by campus facilities and career support.
Placements: About 5-7% of students of our college were placed in the BCA course. I haven't heard much about placements in this college, however, they focus on participation in many technical and extracurricular events in the region. Although BCA offers many roles like programming in multiple languages like C, C+, Java, Javascript, HTML, DBMS, etc. Top roles offered are software development, web development, and app development.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very basic and needs improvement. While there's functional Wi-Fi and classrooms, lab equipment is often outdated or insufficient. The library is available with good management and is more focused on Punjab history and culture but lacks the latest resources. The hostel facilities are average and the food is just okay - nothing special. The canteen offers limited options. One good point is the availability of grounds and courts for sports but sadly due to the lack of proper sports equipment, the utility of those facilities is compromised.
Faculty: The core subject teachers are excellent - very supportive, knowledgeable, and helpful. However, the general or electives subject faculty is not very engaging. The curriculum is somewhat relevant but needs to be more practical and industry- oriented contents. Exams are moderate in difficult, not too tough and about 80% is the pass percentage generally.
Other: I chose BCA due to its versatility in both technical and elective subjects, giving me a good balance of both also it's a 3-year course unlike B.Teach and others, the campus facilities need proper improvement. Scholarship facilities are limited. Events and fests are good enough and they are also focused on extracurricular activities especially on Punjab culture and heritage due to its belonging to Punjab and Punjab University.

Overall the college is good.
Placements: The placements are not given much by the college. The placement cell does manage to organize some meetings and seminars for students, but we cannot wholly depend on college placements for our future job scope. I haven't heard of any recruitment company.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is average as relatively to it being of a government institution. The classes do not have air conditioning. Also, the hostel infrastructure is not good as the rooms are very small, and the food of the mess of the hostel is average only.
Faculty: The faculty and the staff members of the college are reasonably qualified, and they are highly knowledgeable. The majority of the teaching pattern is good and organized. Also, regular assignments and presentations are assigned to students for their subjective improvement.
