B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication - Batch of 2027
2.8
Dissatisfied with course.
Placements: Only 2-3 students from the 2025 batch get placements. I don't know about the packages offered. News channels like TOI and ABP are top recruiting companies. Some students get internships, but I don't know about the companies. Reporter, writer, and content writer are the top roles for my course.
Infrastructure: We have our own media lab where shooting is done. We have a library that provides some books, and classrooms are good for studying. The hostel is good, and the food is okay. There are many canteens within the campus. There is a sports club. The medical facility is not good.
Faculty: Teaching is not really good. They could do better as per the course. There should be more practical work rather than theory. The course does not prepare students for exposure to the outside world. The subjects are too easy but not very helpful for the future.
Other: Campus life is great as there are many events, and celebrities come to the events. But I wish the course could be better in many ways, such as providing more practical sessions and giving students real-life experience.

Its just that my faculty is unwilling to teach other then that college is really good.
Placements: The course is ongoing. Therefore no placements are being made till now there are students placed at [ in-campus internships ] many companies make it to our campus and we hope they will be open to us in the future. Like TCS and Infosys. The department takes us to various field visits which are very information and there alot of learn when those take place.
Infrastructure: There is wi-fi [ great connectivity ] there are too many students and classes are limited. Thus most of our classes happen in the computer lab. There is a library and it is mostly crowded. I don't live in a hostel at campus. So cant comment on the mess food or the living conditions at the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are over qualified but they do not teach according. No not industry ready. There is so much scope to learn but still the faculty isn't up to the mark in teaching. Semester exams are moderate level difficult. Ai makes the paper. Not the teacher which I fell isn't fair.
Other: I was interested in mass media and communication. Particularly anchoring. Therefore I took admission in this course. Best things are that the subjects are really interesting to learn. We have teleprompters and other equipment that can be provided by our department for us to learn but they do not provide it.

Our college has good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Our college regularly offers placements and internships. Many members are appointed to make sure that internships reach students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is excellent. I stayed in the hostel for one and a half years. Comparatively, you can survive in the hostel with laundry and other facilities. Breakfast and dinner served were the best to have.
Faculty: For studies, everything is present and made available on Google classrooms. Languages that are taught, are taught with complete passion.
Other: I chose this course because I am a content writer. Being or pursuing this course would help me with other freelancing works. Things that need improvement would be better management and communication among different authorities. So that the students get correct data/messages whenever required at delicate times. There are a lot of cultural opportunities. Ranging from theatre and other competitions.

Infrastructure was good and placement is okay not satisfying.
Placements: No idea about placement because Parul University started mass communication in 2016 so we are the second batch teacher was good but talking about journalism them have give us practical knowledge more than theoretical knowledge no practical knowledge was there in parul for mass communication students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was very good they maintain the greenery and planted so many trees in college premises medical facility was good classroom was good and talking about the cultural activity that was also good fees is low compared to other colleges and teacher was also good.
Faculty: The teacher was very helpful in your study they are always there for helping us they try their best to help us so talking about the teaching faculty was very good all are very experienced teacher and talking to students very politely so it's a good college.
Other: They celebrate every festival.

Good placement and spacious classrooms.
Placements: Around 70-75% are doing an internship, as far as I know. They are also doing so within the university itself. I'm not too sure of that, but it starts from Rs. 80,000-1 lac. It's good there. News and creative companies recruit. Not too sure. Journalism, anchor, and media specials roles are offered.
Infrastructure: We have computers and a library. I am not a hostel student, so I'm not too sure. Parul University has good sports facilities, and everyone is encouraged to play at least one sport. There is an emergency hospital that serves the people at a low cost. Wi-Fi on campus is very high-speed.
Faculty: Teachers imbibe practical knowledge and wise theory. They share their experiences as well. But a lot of it provides real-life experience. We have projects like documentary making, product pitch, and more. Almost all end up passing, can be a bit hard, though.
Other: I chose it for better communication.
