Also, the best way to know the exam pattern, marking scheme and syllabus is by solving previous years' question papers. One gets to know what type of questions are asked, what is the weightage and distribution of marks and what can be expected. 

Revise: One should also revise as much as they can after finishing a unit or a subject. Revision is key. Write down pointers and make notes which can help you remember better.
