In general, a Chemical Engineer may not be automatically eligible to become a PUC (Pre-University Course) Chemistry lecturer, as the requirements and qualifications for teaching positions can vary depending on the institution and the jurisdiction. In many cases, a PUC chemistry lecturer would need to have a relevant degree in Chemistry or a related field, and may also require a teaching certification or other qualifications in education. However, it is possible that a Chemical Engineer with sufficient knowledge and experience in chemistry could still be considered for a teaching position, depending on the specific requirements of the institution and the jurisdiction. It would be best to research the specific requirements for PUC chemistry lecturer positions in your area and to speak with educational institutions or agencies that handle teacher certification and employment for more information on the qualifications and eligibility criteria.

While the cutoff for Pondicherry University can be considered competitive , it varies according to the course a candidate has choose, their category and the difficulty level of the entrance exam. Usually, undergraduate courses cutoff is lower than the cutoff for postgraduate courses as there are more seats to fill in the UG courses. Moreover, the cutoff for reserved category is lower than the cutoff for the General category as the Government of India has reserved a certain number of seats for the reserved category students.
