Q:   Can I get direct admission at Ranchi University?
A: 

No, you cannot take direct admission to some courses. The Ranchi University has many courses for doctoral ,undergraduates and  postgraduates students. There are many different branches like engineering , medicine , nursing, science, arts , Commerce, and many  more. To get in, you need good scores on the entrance exam and qualifying exam. It also accepts neet , jee main , CAT, and GATE scores ,etc. It's important to review the Ranchi University admission process before applying to a program.

The application forms for various courses offered by Ranchi University usually come out in the official portal of the University. The dates concerning the release of application forms depends on the courses preferred. For any all India entrance exam based course, the forms are out generally after 3-4 weeks after the exam completetion. For other courses for which University conducts merit and entrance exams, the notification regarding it is sent 1-2 months beforehand in the official portal of the University. No, candidates cannot join Ranchi University directly. It's only after fulfilling the eligibility criteria of the particular course they can get admission in to this university. Most courses are entrance based and hence, this will require the candidate to appear in that particular exam. Admission will be based on the cut-off margins of the scores obtained in the exam. The candidates are required to then submit application forms into the official portal of the University along with the exam scores. The seats are then alloted according to these applications and score evaluation.

Q:   Is CUET compulsory for BSc at Ranchi University?
A: 

As per the Ranchi University's official website, CUET is accepted by the university for admission to its PG and UG courses.  As for the BSc porgramme, CUET is indeed required but as per the university's admission guidelines. However, candidates with a valid eligbility criteria is also admitted but  preference will be given to the CUET candidates. 

Eligibilty Criteria: Twelve years of school education with 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

Q:   What is the fee criteria for B.Sc at Ranchi University?

Average academics and placements, good for the degree, but requires more practical exposure.
Placements: Around 10-20 percent of students from B.Com got placed. The highest package is approximately 5 LPA, the lowest package is approximately 2.5 LPA, and the average package is around 2 LPA-3 LPA. TCS, Wipro, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Airtel recruit in our college. Around 5-10 percent of students got internships, mostly in TCS, Concentrix, and local firms. Business Development Associate, Customer Support Executive, Sales Executive, and Banking Support roles are offered.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure for the B.Com department are average. Classrooms are decent and a few have a smart-class setup. Wi-Fi is available on campus but the connectivity is not always reliable. There is no dedicated lab for the commerce department but the library is large and well-equipped with a good collection of books. Regarding hostel facilities, the rooms are basic and maintenance is a bit slow. The mess food is average. Sometimes good but the variety is limited.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are qualified and knowledgeable and they are generally helpful whenever students reach out to them. The teaching style is mostly theory-based and traditional. The teaching quality is decent but not very interactive or industry-oriented. The curriculum covers the required commerce subjects but it is not fully industry-focused. Practical exposure, skill development, and modern industry tools are limited. Semester exams are not very difficult if you attend classes and study the notes provided. The question papers are mostly predictable and theory-based.
Other: I chose B.Com because it provides a strong foundation in commerce, accounting, and business, and it opens up multiple career options like CA, MBA, banking, and finance. I wish the course had more practical learning, live projects, industry exposure, and skill-based training. Internship opportunities, workshops, and modern tools (like Tally, Excel, and analytics) should be included to make the course more industry-oriented. The college hosts a few events and cultural functions during the year and sports activities also happen occasionally. The campus crowd is decent and friendly. Connectivity is good as transportation and local facilities are easily available around the college.

Placements in the college are increasing day by day.
Placements: Around 30-40% of students are placed from the college on campus, and the rest may get placed off-campus. The highest package is 12 LPA, and the lowest package is 1.5 LPA. Wipro, Infosys, and Flipkart are some of the top recruiters of our college. Students find internships on their own. The top role offered in our course is as a developer.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our college for the Computer Science and Engineering department is good. Wi-Fi is available on campus, labs are air-conditioned with Wi-Fi support, and classrooms. The library have fans and Wi-Fi. The food quality in the hostel mess is good. The canteen food is also decent.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. The old teachers are the best, and the newcomers are also good but not as experienced. The course curriculum is relevant, but not much practical knowledge is provided. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty.
Other: I chose the Computer Science and Engineering course because I am interested in the software and development field. Our college should focus more on practical knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge. Not many events are organized in our college.

The college has good placements and great faculty.
Placements: Around 85- 90 percent of students got placed. The highest package is 12 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and the average is 6 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Deloitte, Wipro, and EY. Nearly 70 percent secured internships at HCL, Teach Mahindra, and PwC. Top roles offered are analyst, operations executive, and management trainee.
Infrastructure: The department offers smart classrooms, computer labs with Wi-Fi, a rich library, and seminar halls. Hostels are clean with 24/7 water and Wi-Fi. Mess serves hygienic food, and medical aid is available. The campus has good sports, a gym, and recreation facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, supportive, and use practical teaching methods. The curriculum is updated and industry-oriented. Exams are moderate in difficulty with regular assessment. Around 90- 95 percent of students pass each semester, reflecting effective teaching and guidance.
Other: I chose this course for its career scope and practical learning. It offers strong industry exposure, skilled faculty, and internships. The campus is vibrant with fests, clubs, and good connectivity. Improvement is needed in placement diversity and more teacher-driven workshops.

Dissatisfied with the campus life as well as the late semester.
Placements: The college provides very few placements each year, usually less than 10. Most students get off-campus placements. I don’t think anyone here gets a package over 3 LPA in the entire course. There is no placement department in the college.
Infrastructure: Only one floor is available for students. It has the worst infrastructure I have ever seen. There is a library, but no reading room is available on the college campus. There is no mess or canteen. Few sports equipment are available for very few sports.
Faculty: Faculty of our college is helpful but not effective. The teaching quality is low, and no regular classes are taken. The courses students are getting do not make them industry-ready. The pass percentage of students is almost 70 percent. The exam level is moderate.

Placements: Placement number is not high. You can't rely on the college placement cell. Though, there are number of students who get placed in top companies. The percentage is less. I guess the highest package is around 5 LPA - 6 LPA. The placement cell is really helpful and answers your queries.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is well-maintained. Labs are amazing. Library is furnished and a good place to study. Many books are also available. Classrooms are very big and spacious. We have smart boards and appealing interior. We have three canteens. All of them provide good food.
Faculty: Faculty members are really helpful. They teach very well. Semester exams are tough yet easy. The exams are conducted on time. They give practical knowledge too. But they can still do better. They add more practical in this course. The management can do better.
Other: I chose this course because accounting is my major and I like accounting. This course is relevant to my dream job. While doing this course, I can do many other things as well. There are various events organised. Many clubs are also there. Better management would be appreciated.

Good for a head start in the higher education journey.
Placements: My college doesn’t provide any placements for this course as it is a Bachelor’s degree. But it provides good knowledge on how to engage in the topic so that we can learn how to do fieldwork. Teachers provide a better understanding so that we can perform fieldwork properly. They guide us on how to deal with problems so that we can apply for jobs outside the college. Sometimes students get internships from statistical-based companies, but mostly the internships are from NSSO.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided by the department include a big, spacious classroom and a computer lab. The college also provides Wi-Fi connections and a library where we can study. There is also a department library from where we can issue books whenever we need them. Teachers help us understand which books are required for the syllabus and semester. I cannot say much about the hostel facilities as they are only provided for boys.
Faculty: Teachers for the course are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They provide a better understanding of all the subjects. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant. It provides knowledge of fieldwork and also prepares us for the student industry and the outside world. The semester exams are normal to difficult, but they help us understand the subjects better. The passing percentage of the college is good, as it provides us the facility to clear back papers if needed.

There is no requirement for percentage of 12th for any course offered at Ranchi University that requires entrance exams. But courses that depend on previous exam merit may take 12th percentage into consideration. Candidates need to know the usual percentage cut-off in these cases. Such cut-off varies in different courses. Anyone interested to know their chances can check previous year intake and cut-off and apply accordingly. For admission in BA and B.com course its 10+2 with 45 to 50 perent marks and in B.BA  its just 45 percent in class 12 so there is no as such criteria of getting admission in Ranchi University with 60 percent. A student can take admission in multiple courses with evern 45 percent only.
