CCMT 2025: The CCMT counselling 2025 is now over. The conducting authorities - NIT Warangal have released the National Sport Round seat allotment list. Applicants can check their result using their GATE registration ID, password, and security pin. The counselling process was done in three rounds along with special rounds. Through GATE CCMT 2025 counselling, students were offered MTech admissions to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs depending on the opening and closing cutoff scores.

What is CCMT Counselling?

CCMT (Centralized Counselling for MTech / MArch/ MPlan) is an online admission and counselling process for admissions to the MTech / MArch/ MPlan programmes offered by National Institutes of Technologies (NITs) IEST Shibpur, eight Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) Ranchi, School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada, University of Hyderabad, Central University of RajasthanSant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET), Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra.

This year, NIT Warangal conducted the CCMT 2025 counselling.

GATE 2025 CCMT Counselling Process

CCMT counselling process consists of the following five stages:

Stage-1: Online registration, choice filling, and locking

All eligible candidates should register at the CCMT website by paying the requisite registration fee. The registration fee of Rs 2500/- for OC/OB and Rs 2000/- for SC/ST/PwD.

Stage 2: Online seat allotment & seat acceptance fee deposit

Candidates will be offered seats on merit and in order of their choices. Candidates must visit the official website to download their seat allotment letters. Candidates must pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs 30,000 to confirm/book the allotted seat.

Stage 3: Online upload of documents and submit willingness

On allotment of a seat and payment of seat acceptance fee, candidates must upload the required documents on the official website. Candidates are required to exercise one of the following willingness when they report to the RC:

  • Floating: if they wish to be considered for all of their higher preferred choices in the next round.
  • Sliding: if they wish to be considered in the next round for their higher preferred choices only within the Institute allotted to them.
  • Freezing: if they are satisfied with the currently allotted seat and not interested in their higher preferred choices in the subsequent round.

Stage 4: Online document verification

Document verification will be done by the verifying officer of the respective allotted institute online only.

Stage 5: Online admission in the finally allotted institute

After successful online document verification by the finally allotted institute, the candidates will have to pay the balance admission fee to the respective institute online.

CCMT 2025: Key Features

  • Only institutes participating in CCMT counselling will work as Reporting Centres (RC).
  • Candidates have to report to the institute in person to confirm their seats and pay the fee.
  • For all fresh National Spot Round (NSR), registered candidates must visit any RC for document verification to ensure their candidature under this provision.

CCMT 2025 counselling will start soon. Candidates seeking admission to the CCMT participating institutes will be allocated seats based on their choices for college and course and their GATE rank. GATE 2025 exam dates have been announced and have started. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) was conducted on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. For admission/financial assistance for the MTechMSc courses offered at various government-funded institutes in the country. Candidates who qualify for GATE 2025 and are willing to seek admission to the NITs and CFTIs can participate in CCMT counselling for the seat allotment process.

CCMT 2025 Eligibility

To be eligible for CCMT, aspirants need to meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

  • Aspirants must have a valid GATE score 
  • They should have secured a minimum of 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% for OC/OB, whereas 6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 55% in the case of SC/ST/PwD candidates. A recognized University/Institute should award the above-mentioned CGPA/Percentage.
  • Final year students need to submit the proof of passing within the due date.
  • For every programme, eligibility is defined based on certain combinations of degree disciplines and GATE paper
  • In case, the result of the qualifying degree is awaited, provisional admission is permitted to a candidate subject to meeting above minimum qualifying degree requirements within the due date. A certificate from the head of the current institute to that effect should be submitted at the RC during document verification.
  • Special eligibility criteria are applicable for certain programmes in a few participating Institutes. Eligibility against these special requirements shall not be checked during the registration process but will be verified during physical reporting at the RC.
  • The candidates who possess certification from any of the professional societies (IE, ICE, IETE, AeSI, IIChemE, IIM, IIE) are also eligible to participate in the CCMT 2025 counselling process.

Rules for CCMT 2025 Seat Allocation

Based on GATE Scores, the merit list for seat allocation will be prepared. There may be cases where two or more candidates score the same marks, in such case, the following will be considered:

  • Candidates who have qualified for GATE in 2024 will be given preference over those of 2025.
  • In the case of the same year of the GATE qualification, then preference will be given to the candidate who has scored higher GATE marks out of 100.
  • If GATE marks out of 100 and the year of passing GATE for two candidates is the same, then preference will be based on the All India Rank (AIR).
  • If the marks out of 100, years of passing the GATE and AIR are the same, then the Date of Birth will be considered. The elder candidate will be given preference.
  • If even the Date of Birth is the same, then the rank will be decided based on Random number generation.
  • Seat allotment is based on the Merit list and availability of seats as per filled Choices according to the Government of India (GoI) Reservation norms.

Documents Required for GATE CCMT Counselling

Candidates have to produce the following documents during reporting at any of the RC:

  • Printout of the registration form and the locked choices
  • Provisional Seat Allotment letter downloaded from the CCMT website
  • Self-attested copy of GATE scorecard (2022 or 2023 or 2024)
