With 56 percentile is a quite low score so You'll have your scoring rank in between 4–6 lakhs. Honestly in 56 percentile it is very difficult to get NITs because the cut offs are much higher than this 56% even in sc category. So, I would suggest you to focus more on 2nd attempt of JEE Mains or any other entrance exams . Atleast You need to score 80-85 percentile to get NITs like Jamshedpur, durgapur, Silchar, allahabad, rourkela, Calicuta.
