Yes, Sharda University has an in-house entrance exam of its own. The university conducts Sharda University Admission Test (SUAT) for admission to all of its UG and PG courses. This entrance exam is valid for UG and PG courses from all the streams such as Management, Engineering, Science, etc. It is mandatory to qualify for this entrance along with fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria for admission to any of the course. But students who apply with a valid score of some respective national-level entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, ATMA, GATE, JEE, etc., shall be exempted from SUAT. The university also conducts Sharda University Scholastic Aptitude Test (SUSAT) exam to provide upto 100% scholarships to the qualifiers.

MA applied economics is improving with time.

Placements: We have 7 students for the MA applied course of Sharda University. We have been offered some companies for placements, but they are not related to economics. They are mostly marketing. Since the number of students is less, this creates an issue for recruitment. Almost 100% of our students go to internships from different companies in content writing and market analysis.

Infrastructure: Our first two semesters went online, and we had proper faculty members for every class. The third semester was offline, which created an issue for us. Many faculty members left when it was converted to online, so we did not have faculty members for 2 subjects till the midterm. Sharda Department worked on fixing this issue as soon as possible and was helpful. The infrastructure of the hostel is good, and even the food of mess is good. Still, it is not worth it. They charge a lot for hostel and food, and we have to pay extra for non-vegetarians.

Faculty: Teachers were helpful and very interactive, and they always cared about students attending classes or not. Teachers were well-qualified to answer all our questions in a proper manner. The course curriculum was relevant to the course, and it has all the aspects of economics from basics to advance covered within 2 years. Semester examinations were not difficult but rather easy. Almost all the students passed the semester exam.

Other: I did my graduation from Delhi University Motilal Nehru College in economics. To continue further studies in economics, I decided to join this course. The best thing is its curriculum and opportunities in the future. MA economics can be a challenging course with comprehensive options related to going into research, teaching, and government posts. I wished there were more placement opportunities in this course from the university. Fests did not occur due to covid situation, but our college always has many useful events for students. Competitions and opportunities are widely available.

Sharda University has a good placement rate of 90%, and also the campus is huge.

Placements: Almost 50% of the students got internships from our course. The highest salary package offered was 65 LPA, and the average salary package offered was 5.8 LPA. Companies like Amazon, Aon, Asian paints, Atos, Citi Bank, Hewitt, etc., recruit students from our college. Almost 60% of the students get internships. At Sharda University, we have more than 350 companies. In political science, companies like Amazon, Aon Hewitt, Asian Paints, Atos, CITI bank, Cognizant, etc., allow students to work as an intern and get 100% placement job guarantee. Top roles offered in our course are managers and supervisors.

Infrastructure: We have centrally air-conditioned classrooms with Wi-Fi-enabled projectors, tutorials rooms, and multiple libraries. We got a 6- cafeteria where we get vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods. We have a hospital where students get a 50% discount for our medical checkup or medicine. There are two football grounds, and 2 basketball grounds along with a cricket ground.

Faculty: All the lecturers are well-qualified, and they all have done their Ph. Ds and are well knowledgeable with the subjects they teach. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. It is not so difficult if we study ahead of the exam as the lecturers are so good at explanation and are always ready to help us anytime. They are friendly and always give us a homely vibe. We can easily get through the semester if we have studied well.

Other: I chose this course as I wanted to pursue a political career in the city or national government, and work in a community, governmental or non-governmental organisation. We get to learn a lot from the webinars, and organise workshops, fest-like-cultural programs, and the fest like Chorus, etc. They even provide industrial exposure.

Sharda University offers financial help to its students through scholarship programs. The scholarship is provided to students with exceptional academic, social, cultural, or personal achievements and offers financial assistance to the weaker section of society of students. Sharda University Admission Test (SUAT) is a national-level entrance test for admission offered by Sharda University. The University has offered more than 7220 scholarships to its students. The scholarship amount goes up to around 41 Cr. The University has been providing a 100% fee waiver for the eligible students.

Which university to choose among Amity Noida, LPU and Sharda University for B.tech CSE?

From a student’s point of view, if your financial background is not strong, I would honestly suggest going with LPU for B.Tech CSE. The main reason is that LPU offers good scholarship opportunities based on your 12th marks or entrance tests, which can significantly reduce the fee burden.
