MA applied economics is improving with time.

Placements: We have 7 students for the MA applied course of Sharda University. We have been offered some companies for placements, but they are not related to economics. They are mostly marketing. Since the number of students is less, this creates an issue for recruitment. Almost 100% of our students go to internships from different companies in content writing and market analysis.

Infrastructure: Our first two semesters went online, and we had proper faculty members for every class. The third semester was offline, which created an issue for us. Many faculty members left when it was converted to online, so we did not have faculty members for 2 subjects till the midterm. Sharda Department worked on fixing this issue as soon as possible and was helpful. The infrastructure of the hostel is good, and even the food of mess is good. Still, it is not worth it. They charge a lot for hostel and food, and we have to pay extra for non-vegetarians.

Faculty: Teachers were helpful and very interactive, and they always cared about students attending classes or not. Teachers were well-qualified to answer all our questions in a proper manner. The course curriculum was relevant to the course, and it has all the aspects of economics from basics to advance covered within 2 years. Semester examinations were not difficult but rather easy. Almost all the students passed the semester exam.

Other: I did my graduation from Delhi University Motilal Nehru College in economics. To continue further studies in economics, I decided to join this course. The best thing is its curriculum and opportunities in the future. MA economics can be a challenging course with comprehensive options related to going into research, teaching, and government posts. I wished there were more placement opportunities in this course from the university. Fests did not occur due to covid situation, but our college always has many useful events for students. Competitions and opportunities are widely available.
