A short review of M.Com at Sikkim University.
Placements: In the M.Com course at Sikkim University, around 40-42% of the students get placements. The average package offered in my batch was between 3-5 LPA. Most students get placements and internships in banking and finance firms. Top roles offered were accounts, sales, and finance management, etc.
Infrastructure: Sikkim University has decent infrastructure for this course. The college has all the necessary facilities for its students, such as Wi-Fi, labs, library, canteen, etc., on the campus. All these facilities were properly maintained by the college management. Hostel facilities were also available for the students. A few sports facilities were available as well.
Faculty: Highly qualified and knowledgeable faculty were available at Sikkim University for the M.Com course. Teachers taught well and provided proper guidance to the students. The course curriculum covered all the important topics and made students industry-ready. Exams at the college were not very difficult to pass.

Good placement and good campus.
Placements: Many students were qualified for campus selection around 20-30 of my batchmates. Company selection was based on your current score and marks. The more you score in exams the better company selects you and offers you the job. It's like a lucky draw type. Packages generally depends on your score if your score in exams are good you will get a good package. The more you score the more you get. Everything depends on your score credit the good companies will pick you up if your result is excellent or else you have to go with lesser packages companies. The packages were starting from 2lacks/annum to 10 lacks per annum.
Infrastructure: The college has many facilities like Wi-Fi, sports events were also good. Good campus. Good sports events. The library was also good. Classrooms were neat and clean. I don't know about the hostel facility as I was staying in it and paying a rent.
Faculty: Yes, the overall teaching and non-teaching staff was good at work. Always humble and ready to help. Teaching quality was up to the mark. Teachers were always ready to help except study-related issues also. The teachers were well qualified. Polite and gentle towards students.
Other: I did B.Com and after that M.Com. It's a master's degree which offers you the best qualification in commerce field as we're as other fields too. College has a good campus. There were may curricular events in which students my batchmates always participated and enjoyed a lot.

Q:   Does Sikkim University have a separate hostel for girls?
A:

Sikkim University has nine hostels – four for girls and five for boys. The hostels are located on hired premises, and the infrastructure is modest. Further expansion of hostel facilities is not possible due to difficulty in finding appropriate space and availability of wardens. Demand for seats in these hostels is very high. While the University makes utmost efforts to accommodate as many applicants as possible it cannot ensure 100% accommodation in its hostels. Admission to hostels will be provided for one semester subject to renewal on compliance with hostel rules and regulations of the University. Application for admission to hostel accommodation can be made online at the time of filling out the online admission form. Hostel accommodation is based on merit, availability of seats, departments, and the reservation policy of the Govt. of India. No applicant from areas in and around Gangtok is eligible for hostel accommodation.

Q:   Are admissions at Sikkim University entrance-based or merit-based?
A:

Admissions at Sikkim University are based on the Central University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). For admission to all courses in UG and PG, CUET is conducted at eight venues. MBA admissions are also based on CAT or MAT or CMAT scores along with scores in a bachelor’s degree.
