Sikkim Manipal admission to most of the courses is based on valid scores of national/ university-level entrance exams. But for some of the courses admissions are merit-based. Candidates need to clear the entrance exam and fulfil the eligibility criteria for Sikkim Manipal University course admissions. The entrance exams accepted include CAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT, JEE Main, NEET, University Entrance Exam, etc.

Sikkim Manipal University conducts separate entrance tests, and Personal Interview (PI) rounds to evaluate the candidates. Candidates willing to apply for the BTech, MTech, and MCA must first apply for the University entrance test known as SMIT (Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology). However, candidates with a valid JEE Main and GATE score can apply at the University's official website. For those who have qualified SMIT, JEE Main or MET, counselling will be conducted separately for seat allotment. The candidates will also have to select their preferred course. SMIT 2025 seat allotment will be done by the authorities based on the candidate's rank and other factors. 

Sikkim Manipal University admission is open for both merit and entrance-based. For admission to some courses, the university conducts separate entrance tests, and Personal Interview rounds to select the candidates.

Sikkim Manipal University is visited by popular recruiters like Microsoft, Dell, Shell, Boston Scientific, Commvault, Medtronic, and Godrej & Boyce during placement. As the 2023 placement data is not yet. However, 567 UG and 65 PG students were placed during Sikkim Manipal University placements 2022. Further, the median package for UG courses ranged between INR 3 LPA and INR 5.40 LPA. For PG (2-year) and MD/ MS courses, the median package stood at INR 4.15 LPA and INR 10 LPA, 

Yes, you can join Sikkim University with or without entrance exams. The University offers admission via an entrance exam and merit based on the candidate's performance in the qualifying exam. Merit-based admission is offered for courses such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, etc.  However, for the flagship course, BTech admission is based on either JEE Main or SMIT Entrance Exam.  Candidates only have to qualify for the eligibility criteria, and based on their performance in the qualifying exam, a merit list will be prepared.
