Sikkim Manipal University Gangtok Master of Surgery Courses & Fees 2026

During Sikkim Manipal University placements 2022, a total of 567 UG and 65 PG students were placed according to the NIRF report. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is approved by the regulatory bodies such as Medical Council of India (MCI), Nursing Council of India, Indian Association of Physiotherapy, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the Distance Education Council. Moreover, the university has also been ranked by multiple ranking bodies. The university has been ranked 13 by India today for ‘The best Medical Universities in India’ and ranked 8 by outlook for under ‘Top 10 Technical Universities’.

Sikkim Manipal University is recognised by the UGC and is approved by various regulatory bodies. These include Medical Council of India, Nursing Council of India, Indian Association of Physiotherapy, All India Council for Technical Education, UGC and the Distance Education Council. SMU is the first ever Public Private Partnership (PPP) in the country for higher Education and Health Care services.

Sikkim Manipal University has multiple dance and music cultural clubs. Through these clubs, students get the overall exposure and brush up their skills. Some of the clubs are as follows:

• ILLUSION: Illusion, a group filled with never ending energy and boldness is the oldest dance group on the campus. Inspiring students of SMIT to dance and let it out since 2000. Its members receive the highest praise for their diverse forte from Bollywood to b-boying, their musicality, and their sheer human authenticity. Their achievements have even made the college proud when their few dancers shined in springfest, IIT kharagpur. The mission of these Illusionists is to develop, promote and sustain dance on the grounds of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology and enrich the students with the art of dance.

•  UDAAN: The soul and whole motive of UDAAN is to entertain people and express themselves which is reflected in their performances.

•  CHROMATICS: Music is a soul to the world, wings to mind, flight to imagination and life to everything. When the name itself has it all it doesn’t need an introduction to define its position in SMIT and in the hearts of the students. This group has a range of artists of different genres who as a group strives to create musical wonder. The club functions as a family and gives a platform for the daily advancement of an individual.
