There are two ways to secure admission at SVVU Tirupati for BVSc course. Those who fulfil the preset eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification and age can get admission at the university in one of the following two ways:
- 85% of the total seats are filled under state quota through the combined counselling conducted by ANGRAU based on the Andhra Pradesh EAMCET merit. Within the state quota, there is a Farmers' quota wherein 25% of area-wise seats are reserved for candidates from farmers' families with 3 acres of agricultural land. Such candidates must have studied in a rural area for a minimum period of four years
- 15% of the total seats are filled by the Veterinary Council of India, New Delhi through a common entrance examination
As per the available information, there is no provision for direct admission to the BVSc course of SVVU Tirupati. The university accepts the EAMCET scores for admission against 85% of the total BVSc scores. The remaining seats are filled by the Veterinary Council of India, New Delhi through a common entrance examination. Further, candidates are required to fulfil the course-specific eligibility criteria to secure a seat. Hence, direct admission is not possible at SVVU Tirupati for a BVSc.

Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU) offers a full-time BTech in Dairy Technology through the College of Dairy Technology, Tirupati. The duration of the UG-level programme is four years. SVVU BTech admission is based on marks obtained by the candidates in EMACET. Before applying for admission, aspirants must ensure they fulfil the SVVU Tirupati BTech eligibility criteria. Candidate selected for BTech (Dairy Technology) admisison at SVVU Tirupati must report to the university campus for document verification. They must submit the following original documents to finalise their admission:
- Pass Certificate-cum-Memorandum of Marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examination (Intermediate)

Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University offers various Undergraduate (UG) programs with a basic criteria of 50 percent in 10+2 . It provides courses such as B.Sc, B.V.Sc and B.Tech and various Postgraduate (PG) programs also such as M.Tech, MS, M.Sc and M.V.Sc. It offers various Ph.D programs in different branches of Veterinary, Dairy and Fishery Sciences and selection in all the bachelors’ courses are done on the basis of an entrance examination of Andhra Pradesh called EAMCET.
The admission to Masters program will depend on the marks in Bachelors in Dairy which will be 30% of the total weightage and on performance in PG Entrance test which will be 70% of the total weightage.
There is an entrance-based admission process for all Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University courses at the UG level, PG level, and research level.Candidates for UG courses must pass the state-level entrance examination, the AP EAMCET.As part of the PhD application process, candidates are also required to appear for a Personal Interview (PI). So admissions to Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University is based on entrance followed by PI which is mandatory for the students.
For the 85% local seats, the seats shall be allocated in 42 : 22 ratio in Andhra University and Sri Venkateswara University area, respectively among the candidates in relation to the local area.
