Numerous courses are available at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate levels at Thiruvalluvar University. Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Commerce, and Computer Science are just a few of the ten departments that make up the university. Popular undergraduate courses offered by the university include BBA, BCA, and B.Ed. The university provides postgraduate programs like M.Sc., M.A., and M.Com. The university also provides doctoral-level courses, including Ph.D. programs in biotechnology, chemistry, mathematics, zoology, English, Tamil, and economics. 

Thiruvalluvar University admission to various PG and PhD programme is purely merit basis. As for the selection it is based on the reservation policy prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Candidates who have passed UG examination other than Thiruvalluvar University, must apply for the eligibility certificate . A non-refundable fee of INR 236 (INR 118 for SC/ST) must be paid for the admission application form. Candidates are required to send the application form with required documents through mail directly to the respective Institution postal address and wait for the seat confirmation.

Thiruvalluvar University MSc admission is subject to a valid score in the last qualifying exam, i.e., Bachelor's Degree with 50% aggregate the respective subjects from a recognised university. To secure MSc admission candidates must first register on the official website of the university followed by the application porcess. Further, students are shortlisted  based on merit in the in-house entrance test conducted by Thiruvalluvar University. Shortlisted candidates are required to pay the final MSc fee to finalise their admission at the university.

50% of the scores from the Basic Qualifying Exams and 50% of the marks from the Entrance Exam will be used to determine the selection. Physically Handicapped people make up 3% of each of the aforementioned categories.
