M.A. in English - Batch of 2022
3.4
3Placements4Infrastructure3Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
It's a common university for most of the arts and science colleges.
Placements: M.A. English secured the fewest placements from the overall university, while other courses had a good scope and succeeded in placement at the greatest. No internship opportunities are offered in our courses. We got hired in different roles like digital marketing, content strategies, editing, etc.
Infrastructure: Our universities support various undergraduate, postgraduate and other doctoral degrees. Our university is accredited by NAAC with a B+ grade and follows the guidelines of UGC. The university encompasses wider facilities like transport, canteen and other mandatory facilities.
Faculty: Faculty are not fluent speakers of English. They mostly use their native language for communication. The faculty members' way of correcting the papers is cruel and tougher, so we should show our fullest efforts to clear the semester. Faculty members communicate all the information to the students via WhatsApp groups.

M.A. in English - Batch of 2022
Offered by Arcot Sri Mahalakshmi Women's College
2.4

Review of Arcot Sri Mahalakshmi Women's College.
Placements: The planning for internships is not supported for the discipline of M.A. English. From the overall strength of 60 to 70 percent per batch, only 5 to 8 students got placed in any of the vacancies that happened in the overall drives, and the rest of them would look for offers on their own. The packages usually fall below 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: Approximately 2400 got graduate from the college annually. The overall campus zone was quite peaceful and promoted the mindset of learning. 28 buses operated from the college on all the routes around the college. There will be separate halls, like a visitors' room, allotted for visitors.
Faculty: Teachers with a lack of in-depth understanding of the literature and other linguistics, and won't meet the students' expectations. Teachers seem to be outdated with the current update, and their main aim is to train the students with the important university questions.

Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) - Batch of 2026
Offered by St.Joseph College of Arts and Science College
2.2

Failed to select proper college for this course.
Placements: Students interested in servicing literally join this group, as there are not active opportunities like on-campus and off-campus drives for MSW. But the most luckiest thing is most of the NGOs and other service sectors actively recruit and are in need of MSW graduates. And 10 to 15 percent of corporate companies also hire students from MSW.
Infrastructure: College is so tired of creating the essential needs of the students with the available resources. Overall infrastructure of the college was average, but this was high enough for studying. The college allows the students from various batches to integrate with each other for getting necessary guidance properly.
Faculty: Professors insist the students prepare the previous year exam question papers to score above average grades. Also, they won’t complete the syllabus properly, instead, repeated tests are organised which aim for the highest results. Inability of faculty members to provide practical experience.

B.Sc. in Physics - Batch of 2025

It is a very good college with a good campus.
Placements: More than 50% of students are placed in my course. Students get packages in lakhs per annum. Automobile companies and physics-related companies approach our students. 90% of students get internships in ceramic, material, and other physics-related fields.
Infrastructure: The college has many facilities like a sports ground and gym equipment. The canteen offers good snacks, tea, coffee, and food. The hostel is near the college. Which is good for students to travel. The travel time is about just 200 meters walking distance. The food is also good and worth it.
Faculty: Teachers are well educated and humble. They teach very well and also teach us life lessons. Exams are not very hard because our teachers are well trained for examinations. My percentage is about 70%, and I graduate.
Other: The college is good for sports.

I'm not satisfied with this college. This is my personal experience.
Placements: I have passed with 92.5 percent. In my class, many of them are going for unrelated jobs only. I'm not satisfied with that. They are not conducting any campus interviews either. I don't prefer this college to any other. I'm studying at evening college. Day college is okay.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are okay. But the computer lab is not perfect. The library is good. Day college students used all of the things. Teaching aids like projectors or boards may be absent or nonfunctional, with no access to modern technology. There may be no microphones or sound system, making it difficult to hear lectures. Poor internet connectivity and a lack of charging points hinder digital learning. Accessibility features for differently abled students are usually missing, and maintenance is neglected, leading to unhygienic and unsafe conditions.
Faculty: In my batch, my teachers are very mindful and knowledgeable. But this course is not helpful for me. Semester exams are somewhat difficult. About lecture in English, promote sports, and students use bad slang, this should get better.
Placements: In our course BCA, there are 3 sections, and all together total would be around 120-150. This is 2nd year BCA student and similar to 1st and 3rd years. To be honest, till now none of our classmates got package but some of them are doing part time work (related to course). Less percentage of students get internships. Top priority is programming rather than maths, accounting, etc.
Infrastructure: Our department does not have Wi-Fi. I am a local student so I don't stay in hostel. In sports, few faculty show interest, most of the faculty avoid sports and games. If students want to go some faculty members don't let them go, and they say sports are waste of time.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are qualified, supportive, and experienced in their subject areas. They explain concepts in a simple and understandable way. The teaching quality is generally good, and some teachers go beyond the syllabus by providing real-world examples and extra materials. However, the quality can vary slightly depending on the subject or department. The autonomous curriculum is regularly updated, and it covers important industry-related topics like programming languages (C, C+, java, python), web development, database management (SQL, MySQL), data structures, cloud computing and cybersecurity. Semester exams are moderately difficult. If you attend class easily, you can pass. The pass percentage is 50-60%. Good thing about faculty members is that they are friendly but all of them take their respective lectures in Tamil language, which makes other language students like Urdu students, Hindi students, etc. I find it difficult to understand the lectures.
Other: My aim is ITs and best is that they teach all that I imagine. Sports things should be promoted, and most of the students use their phones for time pass like playing games, scrolling reels, etc., which should be cut.
