Kalyani University offers BTech specialisations through WBJEE exam. Generally, candidates need to pass their 10+2 to be eligible for WBJEE and to get into the university. WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2025 - Academic Qualifications
The detailed academic qualifications required to be eligible for WBJEE 2025 admissions are listed below.
- Candidates should have passed the 10+2th standard (or equivalent) qualifying examination with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/Biology/Informatics Practices/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/Business Studies/Entrepreneurship.
- Should have secured a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD candidates) as an aggregate of three subjects in the qualifying exam.
- Must have passed in English in 10+2th standard (or equivalent) exam with at least 30% marks.
- The qualifying examination board should be recognised by the Central or State Government.
Kalyani University admission to most of the courses are offered via scores of various state/ national-level entrance exams. However, the university does not conduct any entrance exams on its own, but it accepts a few state/ national-level entrances conducted by West Bengal state. These include WBJEE, WB JECA, WB JEMAT, CAT, MAT, GATE, etc., for admission to BTech, MCA, MBA and M.Tech programmes. For courses such as BCom, BA, BSc, MA, etc., direct admissions are offered to candidates based on their scores obtained in the previous qualifying exam. Kalyani University admissions are both merit and entrance-based for respective UG and PG courses. For a few UG courses such as B.Ed, BSc, MA, etc., admissions are offered based on candidates' merit scores obtained in their previous qualifying exam. Further, to get admission to courses such as BTech, MTech, MBA, etc., candidates have to qualify for state/ national-level entrance exams. As per the admission process, candidates also have to appear for other selection rounds such as Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds for the respective courses.
