Students may choose to enter either the MA-Communication in Media Practice or MA-Communication in Media Studies program. Admission to these programs requires an entrance examination that comprises questions related to general knowledge, current affairs, logical reasoning, English language, and analytical skills. An exam is required for admission to the Department of Communication at the University of Hyderabad. which consists of a written entrance examination (70 marks) followed by a personal interview (30 marks).

The application fee for General and EWS category students is INR 600 and INR 550, respectively. On the other hand, the fee for OBC and SC/ ST/ PWD students is INR 400 and INR 275, respectively.
