The university has not released the official placement report for the year 2023. However, as per placement report 2021, a total of 38 Diploma in Hotel Administration students were placed during UOU placement 2021. Students were placed in top companies such as Grand Hyatt Kochi, The Leela Group of Hotels and among others during placement 2021.

Uttarakhand Open University application forms are out is open for various UG, PG, Diploma, PG Diploma, and Certificate courses. The last date to fill the online application form has passed for the year 2025 . Further, the last date to apply for BA Yoga (Hons.) and MA Yoga has also passed for 2025. Apply online through the official website before the last date. The admission to the course is merit and entrance-based. Additionally, applicants must have to full fill out the basic eligibility criteria for their desired courses.

Uttarakhand Open University B.A. Admission is offered in various specialisations, including General, Geography, Mathematics and Yoga Sciences being the most preferred ones. B.Sc. Is also offered in two specialisations, including one in General and the other in an optional subject of choice. Also, the University offers B.Ed in three different specialisations that include General, Special Education (Learning Disability) and Special Education (Mental Retardation).. .

Uttarakhand Open University offers PG courses such as M.Com MBA, MCA MTTM and MSW. All of these courses are offered with the course duration of two years. Uttarakhand Open University also offers lateral entry admission in the second year of MCA and M.Sc. IT programmes.

Candidates can join UOU Uttarakhand by qualifying the basic eligibility criteria. The University offers admission to UG level programmes based on the merit based results secured in Class 12. Similarly, for PG level programmes, candidates are required to qualify graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Apart from this, candidates opting for courses that require entrance exam qualification, must secure valid scores in entrance exams stated valid by the University.

The largest share of Uttarakhand Open University alumni are working in Operations (33%) followed by Education (24%) sectors. The other sectors that UOU alumni are working in are Business Development (17%) followed by IT (13%) and Sales (13%) sectors.

In case a candidate misses the deadline for Uttarakhand Open University registration, candidates can write mail or contact the admission office for assistance. In case nothing can be done, candidates are required to register in the next cycle. The university conducts admission in two cycles summer and winter. Admission to most of the courses is based on merit of the candidate in the last qualifying exam. The University prepares its students for several industry-related demands by offering various short-term courses in distance learning mode such as a Diploma in 18 specialisations, PG Diploma in 10 specialisations and Certificate Programme in 31 specialisations.
