UOU offers BA, BBA, BSc, BCom, BCA, etc., at the UG level and MA, MSc, MA, MCA and MCom at the PG level. Uttarakhand Open University (UOU) is the only Open University established in the state of Uttarakhand with an objective to impart distance learning education at the UG and PG levels. The university offers over 85 programmes at UG, PG and Doctorate levels. UOU admission is merit-based.

The university has not released the official placement report for the year 2023. However, as per placement report 2021, a total of 38 Diploma in Hotel Administration students were placed during UOU placement 2021. Students were placed in top companies such as Grand Hyatt Kochi, The Leela Group of Hotels and among others during placement 2021.

To apply at UOU, candidates can visit the official website of the university and fill an online application form along with paying the application fee in either online modes such as Net banking/ Debit card / Credit card or offline modes such as a Challan. Uttarakhand Open University offers courses such as BSc, BBA, MSc, MSW, MBA and many more for durations varying from 6 months to 4 years. The total tuition fees of the courses range from INR 900 to INR 3.3 Lakh. Furthermore, admission to the respective courses is provided based on merit and valid entrance exam score.

After registering for candidature via the official website, candidates will be selected based on merit/entrance exam. Post shortlisting, candidates will receive counselling conducted by the University. Post Counselling, UOU releases a merit list, and the selected candidates are required to appear for document verification. For final admission, candidates will be required to pay fee and get the final seat confirmation.

Uttarakhand Open University offers admission to a two-year MSc course. This course is taught through the School of Science and School of Computer Science & Information Technology. As studying in the open university, candidates can complete the course within a span of maximum six years at UOU. Candidates can choose to study among nine MSc specialisations, namely Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, etc. The most popular and expensive MSc courses at the university are MSc in Information Technology and MSc in Cyber Security. Yes,  Uttarakhand Open University offers a two-year course of B.Ed ODL (Open & Disctance Learning). This course can only be pursue after getting any UG or PG degree. Further, aspirants must also be trained in-service teacher in elementary education. The university also offerd B.Ed in Special Education. To get admission to these courses, candidates must appear for an entrance exam conducted by Uttarakhand Open University. Interested candidates are required to fill an online application form along with paying an application fee of INR 1,000. 

UOU offers courses in UG, PG, UG Diploma and Certificate levels for the duration ranging from 6 months to 4 years in full-time, distance and open learning. The University offers admission to various UG level courses on the basis of Class 12 qualification. Whereas, for PG level courses, candidates will be required to secure a valid score in graduation and secure valid entrance scores in accepted entrance exams. 

After the application process, candidates will be selected based on valid merit and entrance qualification scores. Post selection, candidates will receive counselling and for final admission a merit list will be released by the University. For final admission, candidates must pay the fees and confirm a seat.

Uttarakhand Open University (also known as UOU Haldwani) was established in 2005. UOU courses are recognised by Distance Education Council (DEC) and UGC. UOU Haldwani consists of a total of 14 schools in different streams of education. UOU offers its programmes through 240+ Study Centres established at different locations in the state under eight Regional Centres at Dehradun, Roorkee, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Dwarahat, Bageshwar, Haldwani and Pithoragarh.

Uttarakhand Open University admissions 2023 for MA course have been completed for the January session. The last date to apply for the course was Mar 31, 2023. For now, the admission process has completed and the application window has been closed by the university. Candidates can apply for the next upcoming cycle. The application process for MA at Uttarakhand Open University is completely online. The application process runs in two cycles throught the year, i.e., Summer and Winter.

Candidates can join UOU Uttarakhand by qualifying the basic eligibility criteria. The University offers admission to UG level programmes based on the merit based results secured in Class 12.
