My journey in medicine at YMC.
Placements: Most medical colleges including Yenepoya do not typically have placements. Internships typically happen at the attached teaching hospital of the college. All the students who clear their final year university exams can go for their internship. Roles offered are graduates as doctors, medical offices, or residents at the hospital.
Infrastructure: At Yenepoya we have a well-rounded campus experience with a modern infrastructure aimed at supporting both academic and extracurricular activities. Wi-Fi is accessible in every corner of the campus. We have simulation labs which is present in only a few colleges in India. We have classrooms with audio visual system projectors and tutorial rooms. We are provided with a medical library where every textbooks, journals, and reference materials are available. In hostels, we can either choose four or three sharing rooms with attached bathrooms. Laundry service is available. The quality of the food is better than many colleges. We have alternate days veg and non-veg.
Faculty: Faculty members at Yenepoya Medical College are pretty much supportive and approachable as medical education requires continuous student-teacher interaction. The qualification of faculty members at Yenepoya are highly qualified with advanced degrees and experience. The teaching quality is considered good with a combination of theoretical class practical sessions and clinical sessions. The exams conducted here are of moderate level.
Other: I chose MBBS because of my strong desire to help people, to ease their pain. It was always a dream to go for this and Yenepoya stood out because of its reputation. We get strong clinical exposure from the second year onwards. But we wish to have more research exposure, flexibility in curriculum, etc. Events and fests are the main highlights here. A rich cultural mix is here at Yenepoya resulting on a campus crowd.

Infrastructure: There are 3 libraries which will be open till 12. Any student can assess them even if they are hostelers. There are plenty of very huge classrooms. They are more than enough to accommodate 250 students. Wi-Fi will be provided in the hostel. Labs are also there for each subject.
Faculty: They teach us well. MBBS is not a spoon-feeding course. You have to do most of the work yourself. They will help you anytime and anywhere. Exams are pretty hard. You have to study at least 1 month before to pass. In total, there will be 4 exams, including the university exam.
Other: I chose MBBS because this was my childhood dream and also my parent's dream. College life and programs are pretty limited here. There will be cultural activities once a year. They are a 3-day event. Also, there will be a sports event.

Good facilities, faculty members, and infrastructure .
Placements: Yenepoya is a deemed university and has an A+ grade. Our senior batches include 150 students. From our batch onwards, the number of students is 250, and in our admission package itself, an internship is there for 1 year, and the stipend is 1200000. We get a stipend too.
Infrastructure: For our batch, iPad (9th generation) was provided, and there is daily free 5GB Wi-Fi for each student. There is a central library and an open library, and it is available from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. inside the campus. Every student of Yenepoya has access to library facilities. And a class can accommodate more than 250 students. Good hygiene is maintained in both the college and hostel. As we have a monthly menu in the hostel, we may get fed up with the food, but it can be adjusted. We have free medical facilities except for the medicine. There are gym facilities and clubs for sports too.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are doctors, and they are so good to us. They are qualified. They will help us in ups and downs. They are so helpful during exam times. If you are lacking in your progress, they will give you extra classes and make sure you make good progress. In a year, we have 3 internals and a university exam at the end of the year. As everyone knows, an MBBS degree is not that easy to be taken, so we must give our maximum effort. If you study it? S easy. If you fail university exams, then remedial exams will be conducted for those who failed each paper; each paper is charged.
Other: Everyone chooses medical life for saving lives and improving society. In our college, every year, the college fest is conducted by 3rd-year students and lasts for a minimum of three days. Other events are conducted by different clubs in our college, and there are social welfare projects too. And most of our seniors ensure our participation. For extracurricular activities, there are clubs for music, dance, and sports.

    Review on Yenepoya Medical College.
Placements: We have a total of 150 students in our batch. The total fees per year is 1750000. Once we complete our 5.5-year course, we can pursue our postgraduate degree in any stream of our choice. All 150 students, upon completing the final year, are required to do an internship of 365 days in our institution working under various departments.
Infrastructure: We have a spacious, lush green campus that is both student and environment-friendly. The college has beautiful infrastructure and an amazing library and they provide free Wi-Fi. The hostel is very neat and clean with hygienic attached washrooms. The mess food is tasty and varies constantly to keep it interesting.
Faculty: The faculty members are excellent possessing high knowledge. They are always willing to help us in all possible ways, and we can approach them at any time. The curriculum is quite difficult, but with hard work, we can excel in our exams. We can make use of the library and simulation lab to study.
Other: I chose the course because I wanted to be a doctor.

    Overview of Yenepoya Medical College.
Placements: Students are accepted into the college according to their NEET score for the MBBS batch. Students with an AIR up to 250,000 are accepted. A compulsory internship of one year is completed at Yenepoya Hospital itself. Usually, 5% of students get internships after the entire course at our college.
Infrastructure: The college is well-equipped with modern infrastructure. There is Wi-Fi access for every student on campus. We have one of the largest libraries, with a separate reading room and a computer lab that can be used for reference. The quality of the hostel facilities is said to be average.
Faculty: We have very qualified doctors as professors who are approachable for any academic help required. Teaching standards are really good and help us excel in our knowledge of medicine. The MBBS course is followed under the guidelines of the NMC. Semester exams are usually at a moderate level, with a pass percentage of 90%.
Other: I chose MBBS because it's my passion. The best thing about my course is the ability to engage in humanitarian service. One aspect I would want to improve in the MBBS course is the long and exhausting working hours, such as the 36 hours assigned to interns. This is common in every medical college, which seems inhumane. When patients' lives are in doctors' hands, it is necessary for doctors to stay healthy, making it essential to ensure their mental and physical well-being.
