Since the beginning of this millennium, the world has come together to become more integrated and interdependent. There is a growing blend between countries, cultures and its people through education as we can see the border lines getting blurred. K J Somaiya Institute of Management is not unbeknownst to this shift in perspective. As a leading private MBA institution situated in the heart of Mumbai, the institute is immersed in creating opportunities for our students and potential aspirants to push this global shift into the core of their MBA journey.  It’s an essential part of our curriculum to offer to our students a plethora of opportunities pertaining to international programmes that are intentionally aimed to broaden their horizons by introducing them to a global frame of reference when it comes to a degree in MBA.

Collaborations with Top International Universities

K J Somaiya Institute of Management collaborated with top International Universities and B-Schools in 17 countries for opportunities like Semester Exchange, Immersion Programmes and International Research. Some of these top Universities include New York University, University of San Diego, Curtin University and more. Abiding by the motto of “Transforming, Together”, our students have had riveting experiences by  participating in our Student Exchange Programmes and Immersion Programmes in association with  NAPC, UK. Many of our noted alumni had the opportunity to study at universities like UCLL, Belgium and Saint Martin University, USA. An immersion programme or a study tour involves students visiting a foreign country for a period of  7 to 15 days. Structured study tours offer a glimpse into macro-level dynamics and unfamiliar  economic environments. Students visit various companies and have meetings with senior industry  leaders in the foreign countries. Students also undergo classroom sessions on doing business with the particular country and undertake a project.

Now, one might wonder, what relevance do these internationalisation programmes hold for an MBA  student? In today's interconnected world, the global business landscape is rapidly evolving, making it  imperative for MBA aspirants to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of international markets. K J Somaiya Institute of Management emphasises on international collaborations and provides a  strategic framework for students to engage with diverse business practices, enhancing their adaptability and global acumen. Networking opportunities are a significant advantage of these collaborations.

By participating in  student exchange programmes, students get to connect with peers and industry leaders worldwide. This not only broadens their professional network but also opens doors to potential career paths and  partnerships, expediting growth. Another crucial aspect is cultural understanding. Exposure to  different cultures through experiential learning fosters cross-cultural competence. This skill is  increasingly sought after by employers, as it enhances teamwork and communication in diverse settings. Moreover, establishing long-term linkages with foreign universities and collaborative research  initiatives facilitate a flow of knowledge and resources, creating an ecosystem that supports  innovation and entrepreneurship. Welcoming international students here, further strengthens this  ecosystem. As students engage with peers from different parts of the world, they gain exposure to different methodologies and perspectives, enriching their academic experience. In summary, international collaborations are pivotal for MBA students aiming to thrive in a globalized  economy. By fostering a holistic understanding of contemporary global dynamics, networking capabilities, and promoting cultural competence, these initiatives prepare students to become competitive and informed global citizens, ready to tackle the complexities of modern business environments
