Full review of KJ somaiya institute of management.
Placements: I am not sit for placement but I far as I known placement is satisfactory. There is benefits like college is in Mumbai; more companies visit here than in Tier 2 cities. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, HDFC bank and Amazon visit for placement. The highest package offered is around INR 27 lacs, while the average package is INR 14 lacs. The placement percentage is usually high, near 90%, in which many students build their own businesses, some pursuing higher education in foreign countries. Internships are given in the second semester. I selected Primewise Consulting for an HR intern. This company has tried with the college for internship .
Infrastructure: KJ's campus and campus life are both vibrant. I need to walk a lot on campus and it is tiring. Limited parking spaces on campus are convenient for us. But college infrastructure is amazing; it is the best thing. We do not have to bring books; college gives a bunch of course book copies from the library. We have a great collection of books in the library. Bloomberg terminals are being set up, and campus classrooms are well furnished with projectors and AC. The hostel facility is not good; it does not have AC. Basic facilities like laundry and a gym have separate feels. The meal is very repetitive, but the taste is okay. Sports are a very good event; indoor sports are played outdoors.
Faculty: I will rate the course as 7/10. The curriculum lacks practical exposure at times, and there are very few field trips than there should be. The curriculum covers almost everything, and faculty members are mostly Ph.D. holders with a lot of experience. The college follows a trimester system, where an exam is given every 2–2.5 months. The difficulty level is easy to moderate.
Other: KJ is a brand; its name is enough and the most important college is located in Mumbai, where most companies come for placement. That is the reason for choosing this college. In Mumbai, there are much more problems on campus.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) - Batch of 2025

Kj Somaiya's MBA is the best.
Placements: Approximately 96 percent of students were placed in our course. The highest package offered was 26,00,000. The average package ranged from 12,00,000 to 16,00,000, and the lowest was approximately 10,00,000 to 12,00,000. All students got internships. The top roles offered were in finance or financial research, as well as in marketing. There are many roles, so I can't mention a single one and others.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available at our college are very good. The college has a very big campus, which is lush green. There is Wi-Fi all around the campus. There are around 10 to 15 canteens all over the campus, and they serve pure vegetarian food of very nice quality.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They know exactly how to teach students to oppose graduated students regarding their answers. The course is very relevant and helps in real-life problems and how to deal with them. The semesters are not that difficult; it depends on the person and the subject.
Other: Our batch has around 600 students, and each class has 64 students. As for myself, I don't prefer anything to be improved about the college. There are many events, fests, campus crowds, connectivity, campus surroundings, and scholarships. Extracurricular activities are held around the corners. The surroundings are very good. There are many scholarships for students who really deserve them.

Our college environment is very suitable for us.
Placements: Course Name: MBA Passing Out Year: 2023 Placement Statistics Placement Percentage: 85% of students were placed. Package Details: Highest Package Offered: 100,000 Lowest Package Offered: 40,000 Average Package Offered: 70,000 Internship Percentage: 75% of students secured internships.
Infrastructure: The college has an extensive collection of books, journals, and digital resources, with high-speed internet access and software relevant to the course. There are collaborative spaces for group work and quiet areas for individual study. Hostels are available separately for boys and girls, with well-furnished rooms that have basic amenities. Common areas include study lounges, recreational areas, and dining halls with healthy meal options. There are also facilities for indoor games and outdoor sports, as well as areas for relaxation and socializing.
Faculty: The faculty is highly qualified, with advanced degrees (PhDs) and relevant industry experience. Professors have extensive teaching and research backgrounds, and industry professionals are invited as guest lecturers. Faculty members are actively involved in student mentoring and guidance.

Satisfied with learning, placements and college culture.
Placements: Summer Placements: My batch, comprising 600 students, boasts a current placement percentage of 100%, with a mix of major corporations and emerging startups. The highest package stands at 1.28 LPA, while the average package settles at 60,000 LPA. Diverse roles across various MBA specializations are on offer, with top recruiters including D. E. Shaw, Marsh, CISCO, Arcesium, and Jio Creative Labs. Noteworthy roles encompass Equity Research in Finance, Market Research in Marketing, Operations Internships, and Human Resource Consulting. Final Placements: Final placements at KJ Somaiya kick off in early August, presenting students with a plethora of profile choices. While the process can be demanding, the institute follows a streamlined approach, shortlisting based on CVs, live projects, relevant coursework, and internship roles. For the batch of 2022-24, the highest package reached 28.3 LPA, with the median package rising to 15 LPA. The lowest package maintains at 10.5 LPA, with 95% of the batch securing placements. Companies like ICICI, Jio Creative Labs, and HSBC extend PPOs based on internship performance. In essence, K J Somaiya nurtures diverse growth opportunities, allowing students to seize the best prospects.
Infrastructure: From the outset, the course is well-equipped with suitable resources, whether in terms of infrastructure or human resources. The campus boasts comprehensive Wi-Fi coverage, including common study spaces and an Amphitheatre. The library offers extensive databases for students to reference in their assignments and studies. Each floor hosts different labs for subjects like Analytics and Python. The academic building, Chanakya, is outfitted with AC facilities. Turning to hostel amenities, accommodation comprises double and triple sharing rooms with attached washroom facilities. Some rooms overlook gardens, while others face the courtyard. The rooms do not feature AC, which may pose a drawback for some, though others find it suitable given Mumbai's moderate temperatures. The hostel provides mess facilities, serving four meals daily. Additionally, medical facilities and emergency ambulance services are available on campus. The canteen functions smoothly, offering a variety of options.
Faculty: Faculty members at K J Somaiya Institute of Management are seasoned professionals with many years of industry experience. They are available for guidance during campus hours. Here, faculty members espouse experiential learning, a goal that, while not always feasible, underscores their commendable efforts to ensure every student comprehends the course's concepts and dynamics. Their aim isn't merely to teach students but to serve as mentors throughout their tenure, whether during internships, post-course completion, or any other possible situation. The course operates on a trimester basis, facilitating students' ability to manage its rigors effectively. The minimum passing criteria for each subject is set at 50%, establishing a high benchmark that yields qualitative results.
Other: I chose this course specifically at K J Somaiya because of its college culture infused with diversity and learning. Coming from a different background and having acquired a few years of industry experience, I aspired to delve into the intricacies of management in detail. Hence, I enrolled myself in this course. The best aspect of this course is experiential learning. A small example is simulations run through various subjects in each trimester. I feel the institute could enhance its offerings with global conferences. The college hosts an annual fest, followed by different committee fests (Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Human Resources).

It is a decent MBA college with good infrastructure and placements.
Placements: As an ex-member of the placement committee, I can say that the placements here are decent. At the end of the programme, apart from maybe a handful of students, all got placed. The highest salary package was around 24 LPA. The lowest salary package could be around 6-7 LPA, and the average salary package is around 12–14 LPA. Arctium, GEP, De Shaw, Infosys, Accenture, and 100+ companies attend our college for the placement process. Around 100% of students got internship opportunities, and many of them got offers from finance firms, market research firms, and consulting firms like Michael Page, GEP, Digit Insurance, Tata Motors, etc. The top roles that were offered for our course are management consultant, analyst, business analyst, project manager, team lead, key account manager, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of our college are decent. The rooms are good with projectors. Wi-Fi access was spotty a few years back and could have improved now. The library is generally good enough for getting required books as well as serving as a study hall. Mess food isn't that great, it would definitely need some adjusting to it. The canteen food is great. There is an amazing synthetic running track, volleyball and football courts.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very good and would need a bit of understanding in the early stages to have a smooth run. Teaching quality is subjective and also changes with professors, but overall it is decent with some really good ones. The course curriculum is standard, following the AICTE norms. Exams are nothing to worry about, there will be enough preparatory help to clear them.
Other: I got to enjoy Mumbai life for a couple of years. The batch mates, and Ghatkopar's surroundings are amazing. There are enough clubs and committees to keep yourself engaged. The communication between students and management needs some looking into but it's a decent college to do your post-graduation.

I would like to go back and live that time always and forever, and the experience is good.
Placements: Around 100% of students were placed. The highest salary package offered was 30 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 5 LPA. The average salary package offered was 8 LPA. For marketing, top roles mostly were into the sales side followed by branding and marketing. Advertising and media management roles were very few. Viacom18, Mckinsey, Salesforce, GoDigit, Axis Bank, etc., were the companies to watch out for. Around 70-80% of students got internships because students themselves opt-out mostly.
Infrastructure: The hostel will always be the place, and one should experience personal growth while being in that type of collaborative environment. It also helps one of the biggest take-aways from MBA, i.e, networking. The Wi-Fi was slow but manageable. Laboratories and libraries were resourceful enough. The food in the hostel was very inconsistent and seems distasteful a lot of times. The morning and evening snacks were always the ones to watch out for. The medical facilities were decent however no emergency and medical facilities were available. Somaiya has always been widely involved in sports and games, and hence, the college offers ample opportunities for it.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful and highly qualified. The curriculum was relevant enough but a lot depends on the job profile one opts for. Semester exams were a good test of students' learning and allow them to judge themselves fairly. The pass percentage was around 35-40% out of 100.
Other: Events were great in this college. It was a great developmental phase for me.
