My name is Gajjala Gayathri. I am originally from Andhra Pradesh but currently residing in Bangalore. I completed my Intermediate education at Krishna Pradeep IAS Academy. Currently, I am pursuing my Bachelor's degree in BA (Psychology) at ABBS, Bangalore. My strengths include a hardworking nature, active listening, and self-motivation. In my free time, I enjoy playing indoor games, drawing, and dancing. My interests lie in environmental issues and traveling. My short-term goal is to achieve a good percentage in my graduation, while my long-term goal is to contribute to serving the nation.

Q1. How did you choose your course of study in school (class XI-XII)? What made you choose BA at Acharya Bangalore Business School (ABBS)?

Since my childhood, my dream has been to become a civil servant. To achieve this goal, I need to clear the UPSC, which is the top-level examination in our country. I extensively researched the examination, its syllabus, preparation strategies, and even studied interviews of many toppers. After thorough consideration, I concluded that arts is the best subject that allows me to parallelly prepare for UPSC alongside my studies. The core pillars of the UPSC syllabus include History, Geography, Economics, and Political Science. I began my preparation during intermediate, choosing arts as my group with subjects like History, Economics, and Civics (HEC). I achieved the 5th rank in Telangana at the state level. Continuing with my commitment, I opted for arts in my graduation as well, aligning with my future plan to pursue a career in civil services

Q2. How did you crack admission in Acharya Bangalore Business School? What all entrance test(s) did you give? Any coaching classes that you took for preparation? Any other colleges that you were trying out for? What challenges did you face while opting for ABBS?

Q:   Is MBA available at ABBS?
A:

Yes, MBA is available at ABBS under School of Management. This course is offered in affiliation with Bangalore University for a duration of two years. Apart from the regular MBA course, various value-added programmes and certification courses are also provided by the institute for the better learning of candidates. Admission to MBA at ABBS is done through various national-level entrance exams. Aspirants can qualify MAT/CMAT/XAT/CAT for admission. The final selection is based on the candidate's performance in ABBSSAT, national-level entrance exam and personal interview round.

Q:   Does Acharya Bangalore Business School provide international exposure?
A:
Yes, the ABBS is having international collaboration with various universities across the globe including Rennes School of Business, Herzing University, Daito Bunka University, St. Marys University, Sunway University and Wenzhou University. The institute also has knowledge partners and some of these names include All India Management Association, The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Association of Indian Management School, National human resource development, Dalham, Amdisa, etc.
Q:   How is BCom at ABBS?
A:

ABBS offers three-year courses of BCom (General) and BCom (Supply Chain & Logistics). These courses are offered in affiliation with Bangalore University. The curriculum of this course is very diversified which particularly focuses on students' skill enhancement. It contains following components:

  1. AECC: Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course, Discipline Specific Core (Course)
  2. SEC-SB/VB: Skill Enhancement Course-Skill Based/Value-Based
  3. OEC: Open Elective Course
  4. DSE: Discipline Specific Elective
  5. SEE: Semester End Examination
  6. CIE: Continuous Internal Evaluation
  7. L+T+P : Lecture+Tutorial+Practical (s)

In BCom (Supply Chain & Logistics) course, value added certificates in Supply Chain Management and Logistics & Shipping Management are provided to students.

One fine day, I received a call from the admission department of Acharya Bangalore B-school, offering me a seat. I did not take any entrance test for admission to this college. Upon researching, I found that the college had good ratings, but it is primarily known for BBA and MBA, not for BA. I did not encounter any challenges during the selection of this college. The admission process, including payments, was conducted online

Q3. How do you spend your time at college? Which classes do you like to attend? Which extra-curricular activities are you a part of in college? If given a chance, what else would you want to do? How has your college experience changed you as a person? What opportunities do you see in the future?

I will attend all my classes on time. After having lunch, every day I will go to the college library where I can feel peaceful as if no one is there. I will spend at least 2-4 hours in the library every day. As a first-year student, I don't know much about the extracurricular activities and how to enroll in them. But I will participate because I have a keen interest in extracurricular activities. If given a chance, I will dance, as I love to dance. I have hardly spent three months in college, and I haven't experienced a lot yet. Once I finish my first year, I can come to know more about this.
