The annual hostel fee at KNIT, Sultanpur is around INR 10,000.

Established in the year 1979, the Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology is an autonomous institute that was previously a government institute. The institute is located in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh and is affiliated with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. The college is approved by AICTE for 21 courses across different disciplines of Science such as Civil, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, etc. Being ranked among the top institutes of AKTU, the college provides all the necessary facilities to its students along with sufficient accommodation facilities for both male and female candidates. 

Hostels at Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology

KNIT, Sultanpur offers proper accommodation facilities to candidates in its multiple hostels. The number of boys’ hostels is more than girls’ but it is adequate for the number of students being admitted. The boys’ hostel can accommodate around 850 students and the girls' hostels can accommodate 440 students approximately. There is one hostel for girls, which is divided into two buildings- one for first-year candidates and the other for seniors. There are different wardens for each of the hostel buildings along with one chief warden for the boys’ and one for the girls’ hostel. Each hostel has its own mess. 

Boys’ Hostels:

1. Ramanujam Hostel: It has three wings; the left and right wings consist of single occupancy rooms and the central wing consists of rooms with a capacity of three students. 

2. Khosla Hostel: Three-bed rooms are available in this hostel.

3. Arya Bhatt Hostel: Two-bed rooms are available in this hostel.

4. VS Hostel: Three-bed and two-bed rooms are available in this hostel.

5. New VS Hostel: This hostel has an accommodation capacity of three to four students in each room.

6. Kalam Hostel: This hostel has an accommodation capacity of three to four students in each room. 

7. Gargi Hostel: This hostel has an accommodation capacity of two to three students in each room. 

Girls’ Hostels:

Maitree Girls’ Hostel: It is a single-occupancy hostel. 

New Maitree Girls’ Hostel: Three-bed rooms are available in this hostel.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel provides 24-hour electricity and water supply and a free Wi-Fi facility for the students. However, the students cannot use electrical appliances such as heaters, toasters, etc. without prior written permission from the warden. There are washrooms in both Indian and western styles but those are common to students on each floor. The girls’ hostel also has a washing machine. Some of the hostels are newly built with new furniture, whereas the old ones lack some of these. There is one common hall in every hostel, where TT tables and TV are set up. Canteens and Gym facilities are also available to students residing in these hostels and the whole premises is covered by security round the clock. 

Food at the Hostel 

Each hostel has its own mess and according to the students' reviews, the food is not up to the mark but mostly good. To avail of mess facilities, students have to pay an advance which is equal to the mess fee for each semester. At the beginning of every semester, each hosteller needs to pay an amount between INR 19,000 and 20,000 in advance as a mess bill. 

Hostel Fees

The annual hostel fee at KNIT, Sultanpur is around INR 10,000. There is also a hostel caution fee of INR 1,000 which is to be paid. 

Criteria of Admission to the Hostel

Hostel admission is compulsory for first-year students. The seats are given on a first come first serve basis.

Rules of Hostel at KNIT

1) Students cannot interchange their rooms.

2) Male students cannot be absent after 10 PM and female students have to return by 6:30 to 7:30 in the evening depending on the time of the year. 

3) Students are not allowed to carry mess food or mess utensils to their rooms. 

4) Diet-off, without medical reasons, cannot be given without prior permission from the warden.

5) Students are expected to come in proper clothes to the dining hall.

Yes, you can pursue MCA at KNIT-Sultanpur with a B.Sc in Biology. KNIT's eligibility for MCA requires a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of fifty percent marks, and admission is based on your CUET PG scores.

The cut-off for Aeronautical engineering varies by exam and institution. For 2024 addmissions, the relevant cut-offs are as follows: 

1.TNEA -> OC: RANK 2600-2700

BC: RANK 4500-4600

SC: Rank 129000-13000

No seat was allotted to the ST category last year
