Shiksha recently concluded a discussion held with faculty at ITM Business School. The conversation revolved around various admissions, eligibility, courses offered by ITM business schools at different locations and scholarships. Here is the edited excerpt of the conversation:

Q: What is the admission process of ITM Business School?

A: To qualify for admission, students must have a record of 50 per cent in academics. Also, they need to appear for at least one qualifying exam. We do not have a cut-off system as the selections are made basis composite marking system.

Students are evaluated on the basis of their merit scores, qualifying test results, scholarship test results,  Micro-Presentation (MP) and Personal Interview (PI).

A: The scholarship test is divided into four sections-Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and General Knowledge.

Q: Are the courses offered degree-based or diploma-based? What are the specialisations offered?

A: ITM has different branches of MBA/PGDM. The B-School’s Navi Mumbai, Dombivili, Chennai and Warangal branches offer Post Graduate Diploma in Managament Studies while Raipur and Vadodara branches offer Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA). At all the schools, students have the privilege to choose specialisations of their choice. Below is the list of specialisation offered at all the schools:

  • Finance
  • Marketing
  • Business Analytics
  • Supply chain and Operations Management
  • Digital Marketing and Transformations
  • FINTECH
  • Financial Markets
  • Human Resource Management
  • International Business
  • Retail Management and Marketing (With International Perspective)

Q: What is the total student intake at ITM Business School?

A: The number of seats varies on the basis of specialisations. For specialised programmes such as Retail Marketing and Management, International Business, Human Resource and Financial markets, the total seat intake is 240. However, for other specialisations such as Marketing, finance and the rest of the specialisations, the total seat intake is 480.

Q: What is the fee structure and scholarships available for students planning to get admission in ITM Business School? Is there any loan facility also?

A: For the Mumbai branch, the course fee is Rs 10.45 lakh without hostel. The hostel facility is also available for students at an additional fee of Rs 3.25 lakh.

The fee for the two-year programme at the Chennai campus is Rs 8.95 lakh. The school also offers scholarships upto 100 per cent basis the result of scholarship test. The test comprises of questions from Quants, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and GK. The last date to apply for the scholarship is January 20, 2020. And, we do have tie-up with ICICI Bank for an education loan facility to students.

Q: What are the placements trends of the last year? Does ITM Business School has centralised placement cell?

A: All ITM Business Schools have their own placement cells. Last year, 95 per cent of students were placed with top recruiters such as  L&T Finance, L&T Reality, TCS, Heinz, Recckit Benkiser, HDFC Ltd, J M Financials, Bisleri and Landmark with an average package of Rs 8.5 lakh. Rest five per cent of the students chose to start their own business.

ITM Navi Mumbai provides on campus hostel facilities for both boys & girls. The hostels are well maintained & provide amenities such as common rooms for recreational activities. hostel fees range between INR 1 lac to INR1.5 lacs annually.
