We were nurtured to be thorough professionals at The NorthCap University, says Agrata Kumar

But that was just the beginning. The overall journey was a mix of early morning lectures, tons of rigorous assignments, dreading deadlines, examinations to test our learning, technical competitions and workshops on one hand, student committees, cultural fests, and technical fests on the other. It was a journey where we were nurtured to be thorough professionals with the skillset to face the real world. The University ensured that we were working towards our goal in life

When you are a child you are often asked this question, “What will you be when you grow up?”. This question soon turns into reality after you have completed school and start to think towards what you need to do next in life. You start planning your future and how things must turn out to be over the next few years. I have always had the curiosity to know “how do the everyday things work?”, “How does the click of a button on a remote turn on a TV or AC?”; and “How does computer process different information?”, and use the knowledge to solve real-world problems. After a lot of contemplation and research, I decided that the field, which could help me with my goals in life and answer the questions of my curious mind, was Engineering. Next in the process was to choose the specialisation. I knew I wanted to learn both the software and hardware side of things which led me to pursue BTech in ECE from The NorthCap University (formerly and at that time known as ITM University), Gurugram.

I still remember the first day of my classes, I was excited to start the new phase of my life. We were shown around the campus and were given an overview of the curriculum. This was very important because we were told in a nutshell what to expect in the next few crucial years of our lives and gave us a chance to plan the career path to take.

The University ensured that we were working towards our goal in life and provided us with a number of opportunities to grow and learn. Our learning of four years was rewarded when we got a dream job before the graduation ceremony. The University’s placement cell worked tirelessly to help students with placement in prestigious companies.

This summarises my journey of four years of engineering but none of this would have been possible without the guidance and support of our faculty. They taught and inspired us, answered all our questions and helped us in finding our path to success.

I couldn’t have asked for anything else in these four years. From well-designed curriculum to thoughtful lab sessions, from theoretical concepts to hands on implementation of them, from cultural fests to technical fests and from being a naïve fresher to someone who was ready for the real world, I got it all.
