The Rhythm of Change: A Journey of Growth at Mata Sundri College
Recently, I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Music. My journey to understanding the complexities of the world has been enriched by my love for music, which has been a constant source of inspiration and expression. Beyond my academic pursuits, I am a dedicated Karate practitioner, holding a black belt and have achieved numerous medals at national and international competitions. My experiences in sports have taught me the importance of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork, values that I carry into all aspects of my life.

Road to Mata Sundri College
Admission to Mata Sundri College, at that time, was strictly on merit; hence my score at the 12th level was relevant. I passed my board exams with a score of 90.8%, and I qualified for admission. The admission was completely done online in the aftermath of the pandemic COVID-19. Though I did not attend any special coaching classes, I put in rigorous study practice leading up to the admission process. Though my first preference was Mata Sundri College, I had also considered other high-ranked institutions in Delhi, provided they were well-recognized and offered the relevant courses.
Embracing the Unexpected: Music and Politics
I studied at Jaypee Vidya Mandir, Uttar Pradesh, Anupshahr. Qualifying class 12th was never enough for me. I wanted to pursue further studies at Delhi University. The inspiration for getting into that prestigious institution came from the help and guidance of my teachers and their encouragement to strive for it. Political Science was my favorite subject and, therefore, best suited for my academic journey. But as fate would have it, I could not get admission into the course that I had always wanted and was also a very slim option by then. However, I had to settle for a B.A. in Political Science and Music, knowing well that, although Music was not my idea at first, it might be of great value and enjoyment in the rest of my academic pursuits.
Discovering Passion in Music
I approached the coursework in Music studies with, so to speak, a certain level of detachment-my mind being somewhere else. This was a result of my primary commitment to completing the coursework of my Political Science Major. However, as my time at the university continued, I found that I was growing increasingly enthusiastic about music studies. The closer I came to its therapeutic qualities, the more I began to love the subject. Music relieved me of tension and helped me to de-stress (a fine addition to my studies).
Mata Sundri College made me the person I am today.
Coming from a conservative background, initially, I was reluctant to step out of my comfort zone. But exposure at Mata Sundri College in Delhi really built up my confidence and helped me in developing my personality. It was in this new environment that I found interaction with different people that helped me grow and expand my vision of life. In fact, this is where I really grew up and discovered my potential.
My college life has been a balance of academics and extracurricular activities. I liked to spend time with friends, engaged in conversations. Yet at the same time, was serious about my studies. In free periods and breaks between lectures, I somehow caught up on some studying or do assignments. Music classes are one of my favorite classes. There, I bonded with my classmates and had fun, enjoying also the artistic process. We liked to share jokes and laugh together during our music sessions. We even earned a reprimand sometimes from our teacher for excessive giggling.
Apart from academics, I remained very actively engaged in many college festivals, legal aid camps. Therefore, I have had opportunities to step out of my comfort zone and develop new skills.
The college experience has really changed me as an individual. I have gained more independence, and social ability. It has taught me to be a liberal-minded person who takes on new challenges and offers me the lessons to transform my potential with every available opportunity.
