In an interview with Shiksha.com, Dr Bhanu Sree Reddy, Dean, School of Business, Woxsen University, discusses the several important differentiating aspects that enable Woxsen University to stand out from other institutions offering similar programmes. In an interview with Shiksha.com, Dr Bhanu Sree Reddy, Dean, School of Business, Woxsen University, discusses the several important differentiating aspects that enable Woxsen University to stand out from other institutions offering similar programmes. Reddy is currently working as Dean of the School of Business at Woxsen University. Prior to this she worked as Senior Professor in Business School, VIT University, Vellore, India. She holds a PhD in International Relations  from S V University, Tirupati and has about 25 years of experience in teaching, consultancy and research

Q: What are the salient features of the teaching methodology adopted by your college? How does this differ from others?

A: We at the School of Business, Woxsen University structure our teaching based on 6 important pillars. They are:

Q: How are you preparing your students to be Industry ready?

A: The School of Business, Woxsen University is committed to shaping students for the evolving careers in the world of business. This commitment is realized by ensuring regular curriculum updates with industry feedback, industry interaction, industry projects, case studies and internships.

Technology is pervasive and Business students with a blend of technological skills are in high demand by the industry. With an emphasis on building student’s practical knowledge, our curriculum is backed by latest labs and technology like Bloomberg Finance Lab, Analytics and AI lab, to name a few.

We have a committed team for corporate alliance where the CEOs, CFOs and CTOs come and address our students every week. Recently we’ve had amongst us CEO of Airbus, Schindler and Paytm and inspirational talk by Founder of Swiggy, where students had the exclusive opportunity to understand business from their point of view, get insights of their illustrious journey and interact with them as well.

Q: What are the qualities you are looking for in student applicants? What qualities do they need to do well in your course?

A: Open minded, enthusiastic, critical thinkers, empathetic, collaborative and passion for the busines and management domain.

Q: How do you ensure that your course curriculum is up to date and meets industry requirements?

A: We have a strong Board of Studies comprising leading academicians, and industry experts from across the globe, who provide guidance and advice towards curriculum updates aligning to industry requirements and economics, social point of view, political, technical, and legal aspects.

Q: Is your college to innovation, technology, science & entrepreneurship? How? Could you cite some examples of these? 

A: Woxsen is a young and innovative university that is reckoned for introducing disruptive specializations. For instance, our MBA programs include specializations such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Analytics which cater to the emerging job roles, that require evolved KSA to lead today’s tech-driven businesses.

Our summer internships, student exchange programs, inter-receptive disciplinary research projects and competitions supported by tech partners, global summits are examples of our commitment to staying abreast with the latest innovations and trends.

On the entrepreneurship front, Woxsen’s Trade Tower is an exclusive incubation centre for innovative business ideas by students. The centre not only hones the student’s entrepreneurial skills and also provides mentorship and funding to scale their ideas to scalable business models.

The total tuition fee for the Woxsen University BTech programme is INR 13.3 LPA. The hostel fee that the students must pay is INR 12.28 lakh. Students are also charged a one-time fee of INR 50,000. Pay the fee on time to avoid late fee submission charges.
