Dr. Avadhut Arun Patwardhan is an Assistant Professor at K J Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai, with expertise in Young Consumer Behaviour and Technology Adoption. A former full-time research scholar at IIM Mumbai, Dr. Patwardhan has contributed to prestigious journals of international repute like the Journal of Medical Marketing and the International Journal of Healthcare Management. He brings over 12 years of teaching experience and 2 years of industry experience to his classroom, where he uses case studies and interactive activities to engage students. He was recognised for his academic excellence and  was awarded the Best Thesis award at Prestige Institute of Management, Gwalior. Q1. How do you foster confidence and curiosity in students, especially in topics like diversity, equity and inclusion?
K J Somaiya Institute of Management (KJSIM) is recognized for its value-driven learning-centric approach. At KJSIM the students experience the transformation with the help of an award-winning initiative ‘Parivartan’. This initiative adds to their confidence by helping them understand their competencies. The students also learn the critical thinking process by participating in the ‘Ken and Economist’ Initiative. As a result, the students are highly informed about their strengths and areas of improvement. Further, the curriculum includes contemporary topics like diversity, equity, and inclusion to enhance the contextual relevance of the students.
