The Rotaract Club of St. Xavier’s College carries out multiple projects for students to be involved in the welfare of society.

St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi is the most prestigious institution in Jharkhand state with affiliation with Ranchi University. The college is accredited by NAAC, sustaining its Grade A since 2013. Besides this, the institution gained the 'College with Potential for Excellence' status in 2006. It is an autonomous college established in the year 1994 by the Ranchi Jesuit Province of the Society of Jesus. St. Xavier’s College is a minority education institution based on religion but welcomes the admission of all potential candidates. The college has a beautiful campus sprawling on 12.07 acres of land and offers its students a diverse set of courses to choose from. 

Importance of Workshops and Projects at St. Xavier’s College 

The Projects, Workshops and Dissertations are considered important and account for 6 credit points in the course curriculum. Following this, the college provides opportunities to its students to help them explore a real-life situation, enhance their skills and at the same time increase their academic performance. 

Personal Growth Orientation Programs (PGOP) are organised occasionally for students to help them recognise their capabilities. This makes the students well aware of themselves and helps them build stronger and healthier relationships. The college also has a Central Research Library which helps students as well as faculty members to pursue their research work funded by various funding agencies, industries and other organisations. Some projects are sponsored by the college/ university itself. 

There are various clubs and societies at St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, which help students take part in various activities. The students can join Women’s Cell (for women), The Eco Task Force, NCC, NSS, Health Club, Geo Club, DHARMEET or the Rotaract Club and be a part of major activities and institution’s social responsibility. The students can create resources for their projects/ activities through donations from society. Workshops on Cyber Terrorism, Consumer Grievance, Financial Services and Consumer Awareness, Digital India Workshop and others are organised by the college. Students can also be a part of Blood Donation Camp, Plantation Drive, Cleanliness Drive or Environmental awareness etc organised with the help of NGOs or the Eco Task Force. 

The Rotaract Club of St. Xavier’s College carries out multiple projects for students to be involved in the welfare of society. Some of the projects of the Rotaract Club are-

1) Medicine Projects- Aims at collecting leftover medicines and donating them

2) Project shiksha- Aims at literacy in hard-to-reach areas

3) Project ACE (Associate to Communicate for Excellence) - Aims at self-development and growth of students

4) Project Tript- Aims to pan out the wastage of food

5) Project Chuwan- Aims to teach the good and bad touches in general

6) Project Rahat- Aims to save the lives of people by donating blood, plasma, etc. 

Besides the above-mentioned social welfare projects, there are some other activities included under ‘Project Work’ such as excursion trips, academic projects, participation in other cultural activities and others. Students are evaluated on their overall performance during the entire UG (3 years) or PG (2 years) course. An educational tour is compulsory which allows the students to broaden their network and have some practical knowledge. Industrial visits and laboratory workshops are also done as per the choice of course. Being a prestigious institution, the students get opportunities to attend varieties of workshops and seminars conducted by visitors from the corporate world, industries and education department. Every year, the college organises an annual function in which students are encouraged to participate. All these practices help them be a better leader or person in future.
