Top Preparation Tips for CGBSE Class 12 Physics Exam

Physics is a key subject for engineering aspirants. A good score in Class 12 Physics is a crucial foundation for many students. With numerical questions and complex fundamental concepts, a well-thought-out plan is important for every student. Here are few key tips to ace CGBSE Class 12 Physics exam:

  1. Start early: The students should start preparing for the exams from the beginning of the academic year. Meticulous planning throughout the year will help students in scoring well in the exam.
  2. Make short notes: List down the important points from a lesson and make short notes. Most of the students think that memorising or mugging the answers is an easy way out, however, this may not fetch good marks in the examination. Hence, every student must understand the concepts and write the same in their own words.  Thus, making short notes after understanding the lesson will help the student a lot.
  3. Teacher’s help:  The students who find it difficult to understand a particular subject/ topic should seek additional help from their teachers.  This would help to understand the concepts thoroughly, save time, and obtain a high score in the exam.
  4. Practise makes a person perfect: Derivatives, Optics, Magnetism, and Electrostatics are important sections of the Class 12 Physics syllabus. Practicing these concepts rigorously will help the students in answering the questions accurately in the exam.
  5. Solve previous years' question papers:  The students must solve as many CGBSE 12th previous years’ question papers and model question papers of Chhattisgarh Board as possible within a given time frame.  Set a timer while practising the same and check the time taken for solving each question paper. This will build confidence while solving the entire question paper within the stipulated time frame.
  6. How to embark upon answering questions: During the exams, the student should try to write descriptive answers in points and give a pictorial and graphical illustration wherever possible. This makes a good impression on the examiner and enhances visibility. Always focus on framing the body of the answer in brief or writing down the important points in short before you start to write the answer so that all the points can be included in the answer. For short answer type questions, ensure that the answers are crisp and to the point.
  7. Revision:  Revision is probably the most vital part of preparing for exams. The students must keep revising the formulae and chapters learnt to avoid forgetting them. Memorising formulae and definitions of complex terms regularly during the preparation would help in scoring well in the exam.
  8. Strategy to score high marks in Physics: The students who are weak in Mathematics generally feel that they will not be able to score in Physics. Physics indeed has some calculations, but the subject is not limited to calculations alone. Other interesting areas such as Optics and Modern Physics including Electronics do not require advanced mathematical skills and can be tackled with hard work and a thorough understanding of the basic concepts.
  9. Don’t give in to the stress of peer pressure: Each student has a method of learning that they adopt to study. The students must practice at a pace that is both comfortable and effective for them. They can finish the difficult portions first and keep the easier ones for the last or vice versa.
  1. All work and no play is not good:  The students should take time out from studies for recreation or hobbies. Studying hard for board exams is vital as it is a deciding factor for the future, however, it is equally important to take proper rest and participate in recreational activities.
