With the surge in COVID-19 cases across the country, the anxiety and confusion among the class 12 students are also increasing as they wait for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to give any indication on CBSE 12th exam 2021 being cancelled or postponed further. With many states, cities imposing lockdowns and curfews to contain the spread of COVID-19, the educational institutions, among other places, have also been shut down indefinitely.

Students and parents have now taken to social media platforms demanding the cancellation of Class 12 exams as going out to give the exams might put many students at risk. Students have taken to Twitter and started trending #modiji_cancel12thboards and #CancelExamsSaveStudents to bring the matter to the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This comes after students have repeatedly requested Education Minister Ramesh Poikhriyal and CBSE to cancel board exams by trending #CancelBoardExams.
CBSE has not taken any decision so far and said that: โIt is clarified that no such decision has been taken regarding CBSE class 12 examinations as being speculated in certain sections of media. Any decision taken in this matter will be officially communicated to the public."
In this COVID-19 second wave, not only many were infected with the deadly virus but also many have lost their loved ones. Amid this situation, the students and parents have been repeatedly requesting the Education Ministry to take a call and cancel the exam.
India Wide Parentsโ Association has also written to Prime Ministerโs Office requesting for cancellation of Class 12 board exams, marking via internal assessment. They say the delay will cause "anxiety, mental stress and depression."
"Take decision immediately. Students are under stress. 2nd wave is very dangerous. We need to be prepared for the 3rd wave now and avoid offline exams," a student tweeted.
