Direct Second Year BE / BTech (Lateral Entry) Degree Courses
Diploma Candidates : A pass with prescribed minimum eligibility marks in any one of the Diploma in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu / equivalent prescribed for admission to the Degree Course (Refer list of eligible Degree Courses for various Diploma Courses)
BSc Candidates: A pass with prescribed minimum eligibility marks in any recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Science of minimum 3 years duration with 10+2+3 years pattern and studied core Mathematics as one of the subjects at degree level.
Note: Candidates with Degree other than Bachelor of Science are not eligible.
For any clarification with regard to Diploma qualification, write a letter to DOTE, get it clarified and then admit students. On any account, candidates without prescribed qualifications will not be given admission approval.

TNEA 2018 Admission Process
Candidates can apply for admissions through TNEA through the below mentioned modes:
- In person: Through 50 TNEA admission centres
- Postal: Only from Anna University, the Centre for Entrance Examinations and Admissions Internet: Though Anna University official website
Candidates have to submit their duly filled TNEA 2018 application form either in-person or by post along with photocopies of their mark sheets, age proof and copes of all relevant certificates at the address mentioned here before the due date: Secretary, TNEA, Anna University, Chennai.
TNEA 2018 Selection Process
After normalising marks scored by candidates (across all boards), the final merit list followed by TNEA rank list is prepared on the following factors:
- Percentage of marks in Mathematics
- Percentage of marks in Physics
- Percentage of marks in Chemistry
- Percentage of marks in the 4th optional subject
- Date of Birth (elder candidates are given preference)

TNEA 2022 Application Process
- TNEA Application Form is available in online mode only. Candidates have to first opt for registration with personal and academic details.
- Candidates can now pay the application fee online via Net Banking/Debit Card/ Credit Card or through a demand draft drawn in favor of "The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions, Anna University".
- Candidates have to send the filled-in TNEA Application either in person or by post along with photocopies of mark sheet(s), proof of age and copies of all other relevant certificates to the Secretary, TNEA, Anna University, Chennai, on or before the last date.
- SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu desirous of availing registration fee concession should submit a photocopy of the Permanent Community Certificate Card or electronic form/digitally signed e-certificate.
- All the demand drafts should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary (TNEA), Anna University” payable at Chennai.

The admissions in the 4 year BTech programmes at ACE are offered on the basis of TNEA Counseling. The admission cycle for TNEA Counselling usually begins with the application submissions which is made available for the candidates in the month of May and the final counselling process commences in the month of June. The admissions cycle ends with the commencement of the academic session which usually begins in the month of August.
