Agricultural College and Research Institute, Kudumiyanmalai, Pudukottai District, TamilNadu.
Placements: In terms of placement, the offers provided are quite low. But still, nearly 15 students from my batch have been placed in various companies like Parrys Sugar, Banari Amman Sugar etc. They are paid roughly around 3 Lacs per annum. Their destination is main in Sales department. Companies like Waycool Foods offer internships during the final year. This is a holistic course wherein every aspect agriculture is covered and the students are nurtured in such a way that, once they move out, they are able to strive towards success in any field.
Infrastructure: This College holds within itself great infrastructure facilities like Highly equipped labs, Digitalized classrooms and library, Wi-Fi facilities at Campus and Hostel etc. Many of these facilities can't be seen in any other Sub campuses of TNAU. Regarding Hostel, you will definitely enjoy your stay here. 24 hours medical facility is provided here. Food is average since the strength has been increasing for the few years. This College has hosted an Inter-College Tournament last year, which was a huge success. Many talents have been identified by here and constantly supported to reach greater heights in the field of sports. The College hosts a wide range sports facilities for students that includes Basketball courts for Boys and girls, Football ground, Athletic track, Volleyball court, Ball badminton court, Table tennis court, Kabadi court etc.
Faculty: As I mentioned earlier, it is a holistic course. So there is no compromises made in the curriculum. Curriculum is designed in such a way that students are taught with every aspect of agriculture, that includes Entomology, pathology, breeding and genetics, Biotechnology, Agricultural engineering, Agricultural Economics, Rural extension, Agribusiness management, Soil Science, Agronomy, Crop physiology etc. This Curriculum makes the student to strive in any field (industry or research). The difficult level of Semester exams range from Medium to Difficult with pass percentage being 60%. .
Other: Various fests, celebrations, functions are conducted in the College, which keeps the students engaged in terms of academics and extra curricular activities. And all these functions are organised and conducted by the student community itself, with the college financially supporting it.

Comprehensive academic experience with strong faculty members' support and practical exposure.
Placements: 5% of students in my course are placed through campus recruitment. The highest package offered in my course is 4.5 LPA, the lowest is 2.4 LPA, and the average package is approximately 3.45 LPA. Top recruiting companies for agriculture course are Syngenta and Rasi Sees. 5% of students from our course secured internships in companies like Syngenta. Top roles offered to agricultural graduates are agronomist, farm manager, SEED technologies, and agri-business manager.
Infrastructure: There are dedicated laboratories for each specialisation, including the soil science lab, environment science lab, plant pathology lab, entomology lab, SEED science lab, food science, nutrition lab, etc. Practical training is supported through field space allocated for agronomy and horticulture department. Animal husbandry department maintains hens, goat, and cow. The campus offers a holistic learning environment with smart classrooms, Wi-Fi campus, a crop cafeteria for live demonstrations, a well-stocked library, a music room, a park for relaxation and a auditorium for cultural events. The quality of food provided in mess and canteen is average, and a small healthcare facility is also available.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive. They explained concepts clearly and encouraged interactive learning, which greatly enhanced the overall teaching quality. The curriculum is industry-relevant, blending theoretical concepts with practical applications to ensure students are well-prepared for professional roles. The difficulty level of semester exams in our college is tough. The pass percentage is 83%.
Other: I chose this course because I am passionate about farming and sustainable food production. The best thing about my course is that it covers a wide range of topics, which makes it more interesting and career-oriented. B.Sc. Agriculture course could be improved with updated content on modern agritech, industry internships. Events such as club day, sports day, and Tamil saaral are organised regularly on campus. Campus is located in a rural area, approximately 16 KM away from the main city. Scholarships like Corteva Agriscience scholarship, Pudhumai pen and community scholarships are available to support eligible students.

Q:   Can I become an Agricultural Entrepreneur after B.Sc Agriculture?
    A:

Of course, Agriculture and allied sector not only remained insulated from economic slowdown or pandemic but has registered better growth than other sectors. Other industries have faced the problem of downsizing during a pandemic but the agriculture sector remained aloof from lay-offs, pay cuts and forced resignations. There will never be a downturn or slow down when it comes to feeding the world population.
