Army Institute of Law Admission Process 2025
Army Institute of Law admissions are based on merit. The institute considers applications of candidates meeting the eligibility criteria. Army Institute of Law offers courses at UG and PG levels. Some of the courses include B.A. LL.B. and LL.M. Candidates can apply online for the preferred course.
The total tuition fees for UG courses is INR 4,35,750. Aspirants may also need to pay one-time caution deposit at the time of admission.
The institute offers UG courses for 5 years. PG courses are offered for 1 year.

Army Institute of Law Minimum Eligibility Criteria
BA LLB
- An aspirant should have passed 10+2 with minimum 45% marks in aggregate.
- The aspirants who have pursued 10+2 through Open University systems directly, without having any basic qualifications for pursuing such studies, are not eligible for admission.
LLM
LLB or BA- LLB degree holders with minimum 55% marks are eligible for this course.

Army Institute of Law Admission Process
- Admission to 60 seats for wards of army personnel is conducted through entrance test (AIL LET) conducted by AIL under the aegis of AWES.
- Admission to 04 seats in the All India Category is also conducted through the same entrance test.
- Candidates for both Army and All India Category will be called for counselling as per merit in the entrance exam. Admission will be granted provided the candidate is found eligible on the day of counselling.
- Admission to 16 seats in the Punjab Category will be based on 10+2 marks, drawn up by the nominated university as per the notification issued by Govt. of Punjab.
Army Institute of Law Application Process
Application form for both the LLB and LLM course is filled online. To fill the form, candidates need to follow the below mentioned steps:
- Visit the official website of the institute http://www.ail.ac.in/
- Click on the ‘Online Registration’ link.
- Fill the application form carefully and properly.
- Make payment of application fees INR 3000 through online mode.
Documents required at the time of Counseling:
- Mark sheet and Passing Certificate of HSC and SSC
- Graduation Degree and Mark sheets of graduation course (for LLM course)
- Character Certificate
- Migration Certificate
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- Medical Fitness Certificate
- Willingness Certificate
- An affidavit by Father/ Mother/ Guardian stating whether or not their ward has studied Punjabi at the Matriculation level
- Eligibility Certificate (candidates passing HSC exam from other states except for Punjab, Haryana, and HP)
- Passport size photographs- 12
- One Photograph of Parents, Family Members & Local Guardians
- Affidavit/Certificate for Punjab Resident Civil Category
Admit Card
To download the admit card of AIL LET 2018, candidates can follow the steps below:
- Visit the official website and click on the admit card link.
- Submit your User Id and password. Submit the details by clicking on “Login” button.
- Download and take a print out of the admit card.

No, Army Institute of Law, Panipat does not accept score of CLAT or other law entrance exams for admission to BA LLB (Hons.) course admission. To get admission to these courses candidates will have to take the Army Institute of Law - Law Entrance Test (AIL LET).

AIL LET (Army Institute of Law Land Entrance Test) counselling is primarily for admission to the Army Institute of Law (AIL), Mohali, and usually does not include other colleges. The exam is specifically for filling 75 seats for Army personnel wards and 5 seats for All India Category candidates at A

Congratulations on being a class 12th board topper. You must participate in the AIL LET counselling process to secure admission, as direct, merit-based admission for board toppers is not the standard procedure for Army personnel seats. AIL LET scores are used to create a merit list for counseling.

AIL LET 2026 Result will be published online. Since the whole admission process is completely online nothing will be published offline. Candidates must not trust anything published offline.
