Gwalior, October 2, 2025: Vikrant University marked a historic milestone by hosting “Vidhi Samvad” (Legal Dialogue) – a day that brought to life invigorating dialogues to stimulate students’ understanding of India’s legal and democratic framework.
On this day, Vikrant University also proudly inaugurated the ‘Charak Block’, designed for modern academic facilities for education and research in pharmaceutical sciences.
The event was honoured by:

  • Chief Guest: Hon’ble Justice Shri Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari, Judge, Supreme Court of India
  • Event Chairperson: Hon’ble Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Speaker, M.P. Legislative Assembly

They brought to this event a rich blend of judicial insight and university’s development, and made this day momentous.

 Distinguished Welcome and Exhibition

The ceremony was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp and the garlanding of the idols of the Goddess Saraswati and Mahatma Gandhi, representing the ideals of knowledge and truth, respectively.  The University warmly and sincerely welcomed the Hon’ble guests by offering a memento as a token of reverence and respect.

Before the commencement of the evening session, the dignitaries contributed to the program by taking part in an exhibition prepared by the students and faculty of the School of Legal Studies. The exhibition followed the trail of the Indian Constitution and recognised some key decisions of the Supreme Court. The dignitaries appreciated and applauded the way in which students presented their work in an intelligent, creative, and research-based manner.

 Inauguration of the ‘Charak’ Block

A significant highlight of the day was the opening of the new Pharmacy Block, ‘Charak’, by Hon’ble Justice Shri Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari and Hon’ble Shri Narendra Singh Tomar. The block is named after the ancient scholar Acharya Charak, who is also known as the Father of Indian Medicine (Ayurveda).

The block is a mix of the ancient wisdom of traditional medicine with the modern scientific inquiry of contemporary education. This brand-new educational block upholds Vikrant University’s recognition of developing new, state-of-the-art infrastructure, reinforcing research capacity, and promoting innovative learning and education within a contemporary build.

Vidhi Samvad’ — The Judicial Dialogue

The highlight of the day, ‘Vidhi Samvad,’ was imagined to provide a forum for students to interact directly with members of the judiciary, allowing students to participate in a dialogue instead of simply listening to a lecture.
In his remarks, Hon’ble Justice Shri Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari stated that the Constitution of India is the life force of democracy, embodying the ideals of freedom, equality, fraternity, and justice. His comments inspired the students to see the practice of law as a noble profession dedicated to the service of society.

The interactive component of the question-and-answer session following the lecture was at the heart of Vidhi Samvad. Questions from students enabled dignitaries to consider and engage with sound reflections on various subjects related to law, justice, and constitutional obligation. Dignitaries responded directly, providing thoughtful, constructive, and courageous responses – a worthy discussion that created a meaningful dialogue between academic leaders in the judiciary and aspiring leaders at the law school level.

Hon’ble Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar acknowledged the interactive element, maintaining that Vidhi Samvad gives students a twofold experience of democratic and judicial life, linking classroom learning with the real world.
A number of distinguished judicial officials, including Hon’ble Justice Anil Verma, Hon’ble Justice Vivek Jain, Hon’ble Justice G.S. Ahluwalia, Hon’ble Justice D.D. Bansal, Hon’ble Justice Hirdesh Srivastava, and Shri V.S. Chauhan, Former Acting Chief Justice, Madhya Pradesh High Court, further distinguished the event. Their participation enriched the discussion and demonstrated the emergence of Vikrant University as a venue of academic and civic engagement.

Conclusion

The double triumph of ‘Vidhi Samvad’ and the opening of the ‘Charak’ Block signifies a turning point for Vikrant University toward the path of more than just academic excellence, but as a contributor to nation building. By establishing an approach to open dialogue between its students and the judiciary, the University asserted its commitment to instilling knowledge, ethics, and constitutional awareness into the next generation of leaders.

This monumental occurrence illustrates Vikrant University’s staunch commitment of constructing a generation that favours justice, democracy, and leading quality educational institutions to realise those ideas; all of which are fundamental to continuing to develop a better and more civilised society.
