Is B.E./B.Tech at Bangalore Institute of Technology a good choice?

Based on the reviews from students and alumni, here's what stands out:

Placement Performance: While the college has seen fluctuations in placements due to economic factors, overall, it has a strong reputation for placing students. According to students, the highest package offered was around 58 LPA, with the average package ranging from 4-10 LPA. Companies like Cisco, Google, Microsoft, and others have recruited from the college.

Facilities and Infrastructure: Reviews indicate mixed feelings about the college infrastructure. While some appreciate the availability of Wi-Fi in certain areas and well-equipped labs, others feel that the classroom spaces are dated and the hostel facilities are inadequate.

Teaching Quality: Feedback suggests that teachers are generally helpful and knowledgeable, providing guidance and support. However, some students mention that not all professors are equally effective, and the course curriculum could benefit from updates to align with industry requirements.

Campus Life: Unfortunately, students comment on the lack of emphasis on sports and extracurricular activities. The college hosts a biennial fest called Manthan, which is popular among students.

Autonomy: With the college gaining autonomy, students look forward to changes in the curriculum and examinations to better prepare them for the industry.

Recommendation: Based on these findings, it appears that B.E./B.Tech at Bangalore Institute of Technology is a viable option for students interested in pursuing a degree in computer Science engineering. While the college faces challenges in certain areas, its strengths in placements and faculty support outweigh some of its limitations. However, prospective students should weigh their expectations carefully against the realities on the ground.

Here's a summary of the key points in bullet form:

* Placement performance: Strong, with packages ranging from 4-10 LPA and companies like Cisco, Google, and Microsoft recruiting from the college.
* Facilities and infrastructure: Mixed views, with some appreciating Wi-Fi and lab facilities, while others criticize dated classrooms and inadequate hostels.
* Teaching quality: Generally helpful and knowledgeable professors, but inconsistent effectiveness across faculty members.
* Campus life: Limited emphasis on sports and extracurricular activities, except for the biennial fest Manthan.

It’s a top tier college, I'm a satisfied student. It’s a bit stressful but a good college.
Placements: On an average, 80% of the students get placed. The highest package offered was 26 LPA and the average package was 5 LPA. The top recruiters are Bosch, ISRO, BHEL and many others. We have to search for internships on our own and it is compulsory, so most of the students join internships in BHEL and other embedded companies.
Infrastructure: Infrastructures is quite good. The labs are fully equipped with Wi-Fi. The classrooms are quite large where easily 70 to 80 students can fit in. Also we have an accessible library having all the kinds of books available. We can also borrow books for a few days from the library.
Faculty: Our teachers are well qualified, most of them are Ph.D. holders. Their teaching is good and understandable, but they teach better if we go in person and ask doubts outside the class. The curriculum is relevant to the industry but is quite old compared to the present technology. It is important to study the older curriculum in order to understand the present technology. The semester exams are tough compared to the other branches because we study circuitry and programing. The passing percentage is around 80%.
Other: I chose this course because it is the same course as electronics and communication. The main advantage is that we get to study electronics like circuitry and also programing, so we can join any domain. We have 2 fest organized in our college, one is Manthan, a big fest and another is Kalarava which is a small fest.

Quite a good college but the campus is small.
Placements: Due to recession, placements aren't going great as such. But it's certainly better compared to other colleges. And concerning the department of mechanical engineering, only 65%–70% of the 2024 batch students are placed. Top recruiters are Toyota, Robert Bosch, Damler, L&T, etc. Those interested in technical jobs can opt for their interviews too.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite average with respect to the fees we pay. Some equipment in the lab, like CNC machines, doesn't really work properly. The library is really good, and there is a digital library as well. Also, it has Wi-Fi. BOYS HOSTEL: Heard that food is quite average and the facilities aren't that great for the amount you pay for it. And it is on the college campus itself. GIRLS HOSTEL: It's located at JP Nagar 7th phase. The facilities and food are good. The college is quite small, and too many buildings are there. As a result, there is no space for sports activities, but a volleyball court is there in the quadrangle of the main block. Medical facilities are good, as the KIMS hospital and RVS Dental College are in the same compound.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are knowledgeable and helpful and encourage students to participate in co-curricular activities and help them in their overall personality development. This college is affiliated with VTU for our batch and for the coming batch, i.e., for the 2024 batch, it'll be autonomous under VTU.
Other: As there is no ground in the college, sports facilities are limited, and some of the sports are carried out on the National College Ground or Makkalakoota Ground. There is an annual sports day conducted every year. There are no other festivals as such; only Manthan is conducted annually. Sports and co-curricular activities aren't given as much importance as curricular. Hackathons are conducted by various departments occasionally.

The college is very basic .
Placements: The placements are quite good and you can expect an average of 30,000 and the highest being 95,000. This is an old college which has a recognition and there are good companies being attended here. The placements aee Quite decent. And there's not to worry about .
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very poor, it's not worth the money at all. The labs don't have good equipments, there are barely any fest going on, has the worst campus, no sports or games is encouraged here, there is Barely any ground to play firstly.
Faculty: The teaching stay are just okay, nothing to appreciate about, they're just okay, they teach in bare minimum way, but some might be helpful and knowledgeable, but the rest are just for the sake of it, they don't take much interest in encouraging .
Other: The campus is very poor, there is no campus life for the students at all, they need to improve a lot in every aspect. There are no fests or events going on.

Bangalore Institute of Technology college review .
Placements: 80% of the students were placed during this year. The lowest package is 5 LPA, and the highest is 54 LPA. There are several top recruiting companies. Each and everyone got an internship in companies, as it is mandatory to achieve the internship certificate to pass out from college.
Infrastructure: The college is well-infrastructured and well-maintained with well-trained faculty members. The faculty members are practical-based teachers who adopt real-life examples in engineering. The hostel is very nice and one can easily get admitted to hostel without any fear. The hostel food is very hygienic and health-based. Wi-Fi and a digital library are available.
Faculty: Teachers are well trained and well qualified; they choose practical-based teaching for students by applying real-life applications in engineering; the course curriculum is relevant; and they are designed in a manner where students can easily become involved with the curriculum.

The college is good with good placements but the campus is really compact and there is no playground
Placements: BIT has a very good placement rate. The highest package was 52 LPA, and the average package is around 16 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Fidelity, Accenture, and TCS. The department makes sure that all the students get an internship opportunity, or the department itself provides internships in college. Roles offered in our course are Data Analyst and Developer.
Infrastructure: We have a separate library and lab for our department, which is only used by our department's students. We also have our own mini auditorium or seminar hall. The labs are equipped with good-quality systems and good Wi-Fi. The hostel is quite decent with decent food. Sports are not given much importance in our college, as there is no playing area.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, as there is only one section from each batch and 65 students in one batch. Teachers can concentrate on each and every student's performance. All the teachers are double degree holders, and most of them have done their Ph.D. Usually, we have 3 internals as per VTU rules, and the question paper is set such that it has all sorts of questions, focusing on all types of students.
Other: I chose Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, as Artificial Intelligence is an emerging course and has high value in the future, as everyone is going to be dependent on Artificial Intelligence. There will be many events going on in campus, as there are 30+ active clubs. We get scholarships like SSP, etc.
