It is not necessary to have work experience to apply for MBA or FPM courses at BIMTECH. Aspirants citing work experience need to have an appointment ketter and a recent pay slip as a proof. 

The selection process of FPM at BIMTECH will contain of presentation (offline/online) by the candidates on their research proposal, then followed by interviews. Based on the final scores, the aspirants merit list is prepared; according to which offers for admissions are made.

The placements are conducted annually at BIMTECH Campus. The institute has achieved 98.04% placements for the overall PGDM Class of 2025. The highest and average package secured by the batch 2025 was INR 22 LPA and INR 10.74 LPA. The median package was INR 10 LPA. More than 160 recruiters took part in the BIMTECH placement drive 2025.

Birla Institute of Management Technology offers a large diversity of courses to students in Management field. BIMTECH admissions are held on the basis of entrance tests. Students seeking course admissions must clear their previous qualifying examination and appear for any of the prescribed entrance exams such as XAT,  CAT,  CMAT, among others. BIMTECH offers Late Basant Kumar Birla Admission Merit Scholarship to students taken admission under the merit category. Under the scholarship, students get a fee waiver of INR 2 lakh. Students must have secured 90 percentile and above in CAT/ CAT or 95 and above in GMAT.

The institute has released the 2023 placement statistics on its official website. According to the report, the highest package offered during BIMTECH placements 2023 stood at INR 23.43 LPA. The institute has not released the overall average package details of 2023. However, top 10% students offered average package stood at INR 15.86 LPA, top 25% students offered average package was INR 14.31 LPA and so on, while in 2022 the overall average package offered was INR 9.38 LPA. Top 50 students received an average package of INR 12.30 LPA, top 100 students received an average package of INR 11.65 LPA and top 200 students received a package of INR 10.60 LPA, respectively.
