Supportive faculty members but poor management and declining infrastructure ruined the experience.
Placements: Placements are poor for BCA. Hardly 10-15% of students get placed, mostly via pool drives. Average package is 2 LPA to 3 LPA. There are no official internships. There is no proper placement cell. Companies like TCS and Wipro visit occasionally, but few get selected. Roles offered are basic support or BPO type.
Infrastructure: As a BCA student, I found the infrastructure below average. Labs have outdated systems, and classrooms are congested. Wi-Fi rarely works. The only good part is the library. It is peaceful and helpful. There is no hostel, so I stayed in a nearby PG. The canteen lacks hygiene, and food quality is poor. There is no medical facility on campus. The playground is very small, not suitable for regular sports. But the college organizes sports events, which I enjoyed. Overall, the campus feels cramped and lacks basic facilities, which affects the college experience for many of us.
Faculty: Teachers in the BCA department are helpful and knowledgeable. Our HOD is very supportive and industry-focused, which really helps me understand real-world applications. However, even good teachers suffer due to poor facilities and delayed salaries. Some have not been paid in months and have protested. Management is not student- or staff-friendly. The course follows MAKAUT university syllabus, which is decent and somewhat industry-relevant. Exams are moderate in difficulty, not too hard if you study regularly. Pass percentage is high, but current mismanagement affects overall learning experience. The situation right now feels quite balanced and uncertain.
Other: I was from the BCA 2024 batch. I chose this course out of interest in coding and tech. The best part is the supportive faculty members in our department. But I wish there were better labs, updated syllabus, and practical exposure. The campus is small with limited events or fests. Crowd is average, mostly local students. There is no hostel. Canteen food needs serious improvement. Connectivity is decent as it's near Tollygunge. Some extracurricular activities and sports are conducted. There is no proper scholarship support. Overall, my academic experience is okay, but the management issues have made things worse in recent times.

Unknown facts and truth of CIEM.
Placements: Placement is very poor, and students did not get any placement from this college (on Campus). The placement cell is not supportive, and they do not provide any internships. According to the college placement cell, they say 3.5 LPA, but this is not true. No roles offered yet.
Infrastructure: The college provides spacious classrooms and different labs for different branches. Labs are- OS Lab, DBMS, CA, etc. Wi-Fi is available for the students and staff. The library is good, with enough books available for the students. Hostels are not available; students have to stay in PGs/flats near the college. A canteen is available for everyone, but vegetarian students may face difficulties as no separate canteen is available for vegetarian students. There are no medical facilities available; students can go to the nearby hospital (MR Bangur), which is 1.2 km from the college. There is a small campus playground available for students for games and sports.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are really very qualified and knowledgeable, like for Computer Architecture (DBA sir); the quality of teaching is awesome. The syllabus structure is very good, and students can get industry-level knowledge. The course structure for every branch is very nice and well-structured by the University. Semester exams are not that tough. Students can pass the exam if they study for 1 month before the exam. The pass percentage is about 98%.
Other: My batch and course are B. Tech (CSE) 2025 pass-out. I have chosen this course to gain valuable technical knowledge to be a Software Developer. The course structure is very nice, but the teaching method by the teachers is not that good; it should be improved. During my 1st and 2nd year, we have fests and college events on campus only. The campus is connected to the nearby Metro Station, Netaji Metro. Wi-Fi is available for the students.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty; placements also aren't good.
Placements: Less than 10% students were placed in my course. The highest package is 3 LPA, the lowest package is 1.5 LPA, and the average package is 2.5 LPA. No good companies come to the college for placement. The college didn't offer us any internship. Web Developer, IT Employee, Graphic Designer, etc., are the roles offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is too good in our college. There are more than 500 computers in the computer labs, a huge library, and a huge lab block for engineering students. The college has a huge ground for sports. Our college doesn't have a hostel. The quality of food in the college canteen is good.
Faculty: The teaching quality is average in the college. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students ready for the IT industry. But the college isn't good for this course. Semester exams are conducted by MAKAUT University. The invigilators are provided by the college. The passing average is 80%.
Other: I chose this course because it’s budget-friendly, and it’s the nearest college. The course is okay, but the college isn’t good. Events and college fests are too good.

Organisations like Flipkart and Amazon recruit students by judging their skills and abilities.
Placements: The tuition is 38.1 lakhs, and it is the lowest in cost all over Kolkata for BBA. Internship programs, webinars, and seminars are also held. It has 60 seats for the BBA course. Students get placed in companies like Amazon, Flipkart, etc. 60 to 70% of students get internships during their course.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good. The library and the canteen are available. Open ground is available along with 4 to 5 computer labs, and they are fully maintained and clean. There are no hostel facilities, but nearby, we can get many PGs at affordable prices. The canteen food is quite affordable and of good quality.
Faculty: Faculty members are really friendly and helpful. Exams are held at the home centre.
Other: An annual fest is held every year where many renowned bands and celebrities come. It also has different kinds of competitions between the colleges, like football, cricket, badminton, chess, and a quiz. Saraswati Puja, freshers, farewell, and Vishwakarma Puja are also organised by students. Many extracurricular activities are also done here. Annual tech fest, annual sports, inter-college and inter-department competitions, and debate competitions are also held. Dance club, singing club, and fashion clubs are also available.

Absolutely satisfied with our faculty and they provide good placements.
Placements: 45 students are in my course. The highest number of average packages offered in my course is 6Lpa and the lowest number of packages offered is 3Lpa and the average packages offered is 4Lpa. The top recruiting companies are Infosys, Wipro, KKable, etc. From my college, 60 to 70 percent of students got internships in Loreal, Wipro, etc. Top roles offered in my course is head manager.
Infrastructure: Our college has great facilities and infrastructure. In our department, we have many labs, computer labs, and classrooms that can accommodate up to 70 students. The library is open 24/7 and has a wide selection of books. Our college also has Wi-Fi, although it’s not always reliable. Unfortunately, there aren’t any hostels available on campus, but the canteen is quite good. We also have excellent medical facilities. Our college participates in intra-department and intra-college sports events, including football matches.
Faculty: The teachers of our college are not really helpful, but the teachers are really qualified in their subjects and they are very knowledgeable. The teachers are very skilled and they teach in English and Bengali. It makes the students industry-ready to face the world. There is no difficulty in semester exams if you have learned enough to pass your exam, and the pass percentage of our college is 33 percent.
Other: Because of my parents, but this course is amazing, and in this course, I learn about programming, coding, and digital animation. The better would be if they reduced the syllabus. In our college, we organise freshers and fest in the year, and our campus crowd is really good and friendly, and in our campus surroundings, there is a metro for travelling, and in our college, they provide scholarships and they also let us do some extracurricular activities such as dance, fashion show, singing, NCC, etc.
