A hidden gem once. Not up to the mark now. Dense campus life, which feels more like a school.
Placements: Around 60% students got placed in the academic year 2024-25. The highest package was from JP Morgan (19LPA) and the lowest was from TCS Ninja (3.5LPA). Companies like TCS, Capgemini, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro, PWC, etc., come to campus. There are not many internship opportunities on campus. The best roles offered are from JP Morgan, HashedIn by Deloitte and TCS Prime.
Infrastructure: The campus is very congested. The cafeteria is very small in comparison to the number of students on campus on an average working day. Wi-Fi is weak when there are too many simultaneous connections. The basic classrooms are non-AC, except for labs and some special classrooms. They have AC. Hostel and Mess are okayish. Food is decent, and rooms are not very spacious but manageable.
Faculty: Very strict schedule of exams. Teachers are qualified, but not everyone knows how to teach, apparently. They just read out of PPTs and then take attendance. The course curriculum is relevant, though. But there is a lack of practical knowledge cultivated in the students from the beginning. Oftentimes, they have to resort to the internet to actually upskill themselves.
Other: Fests and events are good. Scholarships are given on a merit basis. The fees are below average when you consider the current rate of B.Tech in this country. So that's justified. The campus life is utterly bad. It feels more like a school than a college. There are strict rules that need to be followed. Disobeying them might lead to serious consequences.

An efficient way to success.
Placements: About 75-80% of students got placed in CSE. The highest package touched 48 LPA, the lowest around 3 LPA, with an average of 6 LPA. Top recruiters include Accenture, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant. Around 60% secured internships in MNCs and startups. Roles offered are SDE, analyst, and consultant.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi and labs are available but often slow or outdated. Classrooms lack modern facilities, and the library is decent but limited. Hostel rooms are small, mess food is average with hygiene issues. Sports facilities are minimal, and medical help is basic and needs improvement.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, supportive, and well-qualified with strong subject knowledge. The teaching quality is good, focusing not only on theory but also on practical learning and projects. The curriculum is regularly updated to keep it industry-relevant, which helps students become job-ready. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty and manageable with preparation. The overall pass percentage remains high at around 85-90%.
Other: I chose CSE (Batch 2022-26) for good placements and tech exposure. The best part is the coding culture, helpful peers, and active clubs. Top internships from MNCs also come. Campus fests and events are enjoyable, and the crowd is diverse. Need better labs and hostel facilities. Connectivity is decent, with scholarships and extracurricular activities available.

Excellent facilities, modern campus, and friendly environment.
Placements: UEM Kolkata boosts strong placement statistics on paper with competitive average and top-end packages up to 72 LPA. However, individual student outcomes vary widely depending on department year group dynamics and economic conditions, while many students land respectable it jobs, other faces challenges, suggesting a mixed, generally positive placement scenario.
Infrastructure: Overall, UEM campus offers excellent infrastructure with digitized classrooms, modern labs, a robust library, and recreational space. Hostel facilities are functional and secure, but some students mention issues like space constraints, mess food quality, strict supervision, and distance from the main campus.
Faculty: Faculty is generally qualified, supportive, industry-aware curriculum offers modern it and core subjects, creative electives, exams, reasonably difficult, frequent assessments that help continuous evaluation overall. UEM Kolkata presents a structured and contemporary curriculum with modern subjects.

Great learning environment with strong placements and supportive faculty.
Placements: I am pursuing a B.Tech in CSE with a specialization in AI. My college has excellent placements, with 90% of students in the 2025 batch getting placed. The highest package is ₹73 LPA, the average is ₹8 LPA, and the lowest is ₹4 LPA. Top recruiters included Amazon, TCS, and Accenture. Additionally, 80% of students secured internships, with roles such as SDE, AI developer, ML engineer, and analyst.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are normal but well-maintained. The labs have good systems for coding and AI work. The campus Wi-Fi is decent, and the library has helpful resources. Seminars and workshops provide extra learning. I live in a PG, but my friends say the hostel food, Wi-Fi, medical, and sports facilities are good.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful, experienced, and supportive. They guide students well in projects and provide good opportunities through workshops and contests. The curriculum is industry-focused, including AI and ML. The exams are of moderate difficulty, and the pass percentage is around 85 to 90%.
Other: I chose this course due to my interest in AI and its future scope. The best parts are the practical learning, helpful faculty, and tech events. The campus isn't very big, but it has a good crowd and an enjoyable vibe. Fests, clubs, and hackathons happen often. Connectivity is good, and scholarships are available, though fees may vary each year. Labs and industry exposure could be improved.

Good college with nice teachers and placements, needs more practical learning.
Placements: In B.Tech CSE (AI) at UEM Kolkata, 85-90% of students got placed. The highest package is 73 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and average is 5 LPA. Top recruiters are TCS, Infosys, IBM, etc. Around 70% of students got internships in companies like TCS iON and Internshala. Roles included ML engineer and developer.
Infrastructure: UEM Kolkata's CSE (AI) department has decent infrastructure with normal classrooms, some AC rooms, good Wi-Fi, and well-equipped labs. Library has good digital resources. Hostel facilities are average with basic rooms, and food in the mess is okay but can be improved. Medical help is available. Sports like football, basketball, and indoor games are supported.
Faculty: Teachers across all departments at UEM Kolkata are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive. They focus on both theory and practical learning. The curriculum is industry-relevant and regularly updated to match current trends. Semester exams are moderately difficult, and the overall pass percentage is high, around 90%, helping students build a strong academic foundation.
Other: B.Tech courses at UEM Kolkata offer a good mixture of academics and extracurricular activities. The curriculum is industry-relevant, with hands-on labs and coding practice. Events and fests are actively organized, and the campus crowd is energetic. College is well-connected, and scholarships are provided based on merit. However, there's scope for improvement in industry exposure, advanced lab facilities, and live project opportunities for better practical learning.

Do not choose UEM Kolkata before knowing these things.
Placements: The university has a decent placement rate of 80 to 85% students getting placed every year. The highest package in CSE is 72 LPA (though it's once in a blue moon), however, the average package lies around 5 to 6 LPA, while the lowest is 3 to 4 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro, Deloitte, etc. In the following roles - Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, and Consultant, etc. About 60 to 70% students also get internships in the above mentioned companies before the final placement drive.
Infrastructure: The facilities offered in UEM Kolkata are average. Students get decent labs, but the classrooms are average in my opinion. They also provide a decent PC in the computer labs, enough to execute any type of programming language. I cannot mention the conditions of the hostel because I do not reside in one, but from what I have heard from my batchmates, the food is quite average but manageable.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. The quality is below average for certain subjects, the reasons being that it is quite difficult to deliver lectures in such big classes for a constant 50 minutes and the execution of certain teachers is not that good. Though some teachers excel in both, they are pretty awesome. The course curriculum is relevant, but not enough to make the students industry ready, especially in CSE. You definitely need to work on your skills and yourself. The college would barely help with advanced skills. The semester exams are moderately hard. The pass percentage is 90%+ for the first year.
