Supportive faculty, practical legal training & decent placements – A good choice for law aspirants.
Placements: Around 60-70% of students from the B.A. LL.B. course was placed. The highest package offered was 6 LPA, the lowest 2 LPA, and the average was around 3.5 LPA. Top recruiters included Khaitan & Co., Luthra & Luthra, and legal NGOs. Nearly 80% got internships at High Courts, HRLN, and corporate law firms. Roles offered included legal associate, junior advocate, legal researcher, and legal intern, helping students build strong practical legal experience.
Infrastructure: The college offers well-equipped classrooms, a rich law library, a moot court hall, computer labs, and campus Wi-Fi. Hostel facilities are decent with clean rooms. Mess food is average but hygienic. Medical help, sports, and indoor games are also available.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good with a focus on practical learning. The curriculum is relevant and industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult. The pass percentage is around 85-90% on average.
Other: Choosing B.A. LL.B. at Durgapur Institute of Legal Studies has been a good decision. The course helps shape your personality, gives you practical legal training, and prepares you to face the real legal world with confidence. There is still room for improvement, but overall, the college provides a positive and learning-friendly environment.

It is full of enjoyment if you reside in a college hostel.
Placements: Placements are not available for the students pursuing 5 years B.A. LL.B. course. Companies do not visit our college to recruit students. The role is not offered by the institution. Since the opening of this college, not a single student has got placement from the college campus.
Infrastructure: Our college provides a non-air-conditioned hostel and that too without a Wi-Fi facility. In the brochure, it is written that a Wi-Fi facility is available, but it is not available in reality. The hostel is quite average, but the food quality is as we can expect from a canteen of the hostel. The hostel life is the best.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are average. Most of the teachers try to help students, and teachers and students are representing the same as the best way to treat the matter. There are total 10 semesters in 5 years, and subjects are quite average for an average student.
Other: I have chosen this college because I want to get into a nearby college. Our college does not conduct extracurricular activities.

The quality of teaching of faculty members is good, and they are knowledgeable.
Placements: Placements are very poor in our college, and there were no placements during our tenure. Our college has offered a 3 years LL.B course at a total course fee of Rs. 25,000 per annum, excluding the charges for form filling, etc., which are Rs. 75,000. We never heard of any company visiting here. Presently, I am practising as an advocate on both civil and criminal sides, and also I am doing a legal content writing job from home.
Infrastructure: Facilities like Wi-Fi and labs are not available here. However, there is one room to practice Moot court in our college once a week. In our 3 years course, there were discussions in our classroom, and we were kind of fine with it. In our college library, there are sufficient books to meet our queries. We used to take books from the library for reference, and those books really help us a lot. There are hostel facilities for girls and boys separately within the campus.
Faculty: Faculty members here are qualified and knowledgeable to solve our queries and helpful. They are always available to us in case of any doubt in any paper. I rate the college with 3 stars out of 5 stars because there is a lack of teaching staff members. We really need to study law not only to become a lawyer but also to be a judge of a court, including other legal professions. There are various law firms, which hire law students. Students who want to get jobs in those firms should study well and apply before for those firms and chose a career as per their choice.

My hostel is disaster for us.
Placements: My college doesn't provide good placement so we have to apply in another way. This is necessary for all students to do at least 5 internships in our course. College doesn't provide any internships for students. We have to find an internship in NGO or farm, etc.
Infrastructure: We have library and classrooms. Hostel is no less than a bad dream that's why I had to leave my hostel and go for PG. There is no Wi-Fi or library facilities. Food quality is very bad.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Some teachers are also very understanding. They help us a lot. We can ask any questions at any time. They are always there to help us. Some teachers are just like friends. They are perfect teachers. Teachers are regular in college and 75% attendance is necessary for all students.

Q: Can I start a law practice without a Law degree or become a lawyer?
A:
No, you cannot become a lawyer without a Law degree. You mandatorily need to obtain degrees such as BA/BCom/BSc/BBA LLB or LLB in order to be a lawyer in India. To become a lawyer, one must first complete three-year or five-year LLB from a recognised university and possess degree certificate. Then, they must enrol themselves in local Bar Council of the concerned state and enrolled as an advocate. Within two years of the enrolment, they must appear and clear AIBE in order to be eligible to practise anywhere in India.
