B.A. (Hons.) Political Science - Batch of 2026
4.4

Great vibes, supportive teachers, and loads to explore.
Placements: I'm pursuing a B.A. (Hons) in Political Science, which has been an enriching academic experience. Regarding placements, around 30%-40% of students from our college. The highest package offered around 6 LPA, the lowest is 2.5 LPA, and the average package stood at approximately 3.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies include PRS Legislative Research, Oxfam India, Tech for India, Swaniti Initiative, and The Policy Times. About 50% of students received internship offers, either through college support or self-application. Internships are offered at places like Lok Sabha Internship. Top roles offered included policy research associate and political analyst intern.
Infrastructure: The Political Science department offers decent infrastructure with Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms, a well-stocked library, and access to online journals. Classrooms are clean and spacious, but more smart classrooms and updated reading material would improve the learning experience. The hostel offers basic facilities with clean rooms and adequate security. Mess food is average but hygienic, while the canteen serves decent snacks. Medical aid is available on campus. Sports facilities exist but are limited in variety. Improvement in recreational areas and medical infrastructure would enhance the overall student experience.
Faculty: Teachers of B.A. Political Science (Hons) are highly qualified, experienced, and very supportive. Their teaching methods are interactive and easy to understand. They encourage discussions and critical thinking, making classes engaging and insightful. The B.A. in Political Science (Hons) curriculum is relevant and well-structured. It builds strong analytical and research skills, helping students prepare for careers in civil services, policy, and academia. The semester exams for B.A. Political Science (Hons) is moderately difficult, requiring consistent study. Most students pass with good preparation, and the overall pass percentage remains above 85%.
Other: I chose B.A. Political Science (Hons) due to my interest in politics and governance. The best part is engaging discussions, experienced faculty, and understanding real-world political systems deeply. The course is insightful, but I wish there were more practical exposure, internships, and an updated curriculum to match current political trends and career opportunities in policymaking and research. The campus hosts vibrant events and fests, with an energetic crowd and good connectivity. Surroundings are lively, scholarships are available, and extracurricular activities provide great exposure and overall development.

Absolutely this is a very good college with affordable feels.
Placements: Placement support exists via a college placement cell and an internship fair. However, opportunities are reported as limited and mainly accessed by higher CGPA students, e.g., 8 CGPA. Placement states vary widely. Shiksha reviews note 25%-60% placement rates across courses, with packages ranging from 2.5 LPA-15 LPA, averaging 5 LPA-7 LPA in top cases. Other sources mention speak of 10 LPA-36 LPA, with average packages from 4 LPA-5 LPA to 5.7 LPA. Honesty, the placement of this college is very poor, as very few companies give placement to this college.
Infrastructure: DSEC offers undergraduate courses in Arts and Commerce, including B.Com (Hons) B.A. (Hons) in History, Political Science, English and the B.A. Program. Annual fee is low, roughly about 12,700-13,300 for core courses. Hence, making it a strong value-for-money option. The campus is adjacent to JLN Metro Station, offering excellent accessibility. The lush, central location also places it near key areas of Delhi like Khan Market and CP. Facilities include a spacious library (connected to DUS N-List e-resources), sports grounds, auditorium, cafeteria, IT labs, medical services, and Wi-Fi.
Faculty: Faculty members are generally well-regarded. Shiksha average rating is 4.1/5, with ~ 80% of reviewers rating faculty at 3-5 stars. Teachers as qualified, approachable, and supportive. The curriculum is moderate in difficultly, and assignments area. Students are overly burden sometimes, especially in evening setting. However, some have weaker engagement but consistent teaching quality, especially in non-commerce streams. Attendance and academic pressure are said to be relatively lax.

Overall, college is good from the point of just getting your graduation and college life.
Placements: In an average quantity of students, taking admission, mostly students prefer to go to the North campus from the point of view of good placement and courses. As Dyal Singh offers limited courses and internship programs. Honours students most probably get better opportunities than the B.A. Programme students. The package is around 30000 and could be a maximum of 50000.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are good from the point of view of a government college, and they provide facilities as good as they can. Fests and events held at Dyal Singh University are average. Classrooms, washrooms, and food facilities are average, as I think they could be better.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. They provide the lectures in the best way they can. They give assignments and perform activities. But not all the faculty members perform such activities to make students active. Well, the semester exams are easy, but the syllabus is so wide. The pass percentage is 5, but I’m not sure about it actually.
Other: I wanted to take B.Com., but the cut was so high that my percentage was too low, so I decided to choose the B.A. Programme because I was a commerce student, but personally, I don't like the economic lectures as they are boring. Well, other than this, I am actively performing in so many colleges in their fests by joining my own college society, and it's the best decision of my life to explore the Delhi University fests for free. All college fests are free for the students who are society members in any activity like dance, drawing, singing, dramatics, etc.

It has a good infrastructure and campus.
Placements: About 20-30% of students who appear for placements get recruited. The top recruiters included companies such as Urban and AECC Global. The average package ranges from 2-4 LPA. The course which I chose is B.Com (Hons.). Top roles offered are mainly in the sales and marketing fields.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility in Dyal Singh Evening College. The overall infrastructure is good. Classrooms are good and well-maintained. Canteen food is also fine. The library and labs have AC. There is a volleyball court, basketball court, and football ground. An auditorium and seminar hall are also there in the college. Water coolers are also fine.
Faculty: I love our college faculty members. Teachers are very sweet and nice. Classes take place regularly and the quality of education imparted is great. Semester exams at the university are not that hard since everything comes from the syllabus only. If students are thorough with the syllabus and have good internal marks, we can easily score 8-9 SGPA.
Other: I chose B.Com (Hons) because I am pursuing CMA side by side. I love this course because I like studying accounts. An annual fest takes place which is pretty good. Surroundings of the college are pretty decent. The location is the best as it is situated in a posh area. The crowd is also decent.

A course and college with a range of opportunities for your future.
Placements: About 25-30% of the students who appear for placement interviews get selected. The highest package ranges from 12-15 lakhs, while the lowest is between 2.5-3 lakhs per annum, with the average package falling between 5-7 lakhs. EY India, Swiggy, Amazon, Decathlon, and KPMG are among the recruiting companies. Student counselors are also available.
Infrastructure: All basic facilities, such as Wi-Fi, a library, good classrooms, and playgrounds, are available. The college has a canteen that provides quality food at very reasonable prices. An amphitheater and seminar hall offer various options for programs and events. However, there is no hostel on campus.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-trained and qualified in their respective fields, providing high-quality teaching. In the developing environment of the country, this course offers a range of options for students, as history is a humanities subject, and OMSP primarily focuses on business training and opportunity building. Semester exams are moderately difficult based on your skills, and 80-85% of the students pass their semester exams.
Other: The reason I've chosen this course is that I wanted a diverse range for myself, with history being helpful for my civil services examinations, and OMSP (ESB) focusing on business and opportunity-building training. The campus crowd is very vibrant, with societies being involved in various extracurricular activities and a college fest along with the individual fest of every society being organized every year. Various scholarship opportunities are also provided by the college. The location of the College is very efficient connectivity with both the metro and bus stands near the college.

As summary, my college placement is not good, but infrastructure and atmosphere is good.
Placements: In our college, there is no criteria for permanent placement. Actually, as a percentage for the placement of students is very low in our college. I mean, there are student group who actually find placements and internships for the students as they are not compared to other colleges, but it's okay.
Infrastructure: Compared to other colleges, the hospitality and infrastructure of our college are actually good. According to the prices, we are paying. I mean, the Wi-Fi doesn't work properly, but the classroom in the library is good. The sports and other facilities are fantastic.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. Sometimes they are not, but they help in some ways. If you really ask what you need, and the curriculum. This semester exam is easy. Its not very difficult, it is okay. Teachers are very motivated. They always motivate students to do their best.
Other: Actually, I chose the course because I like the computer application and it is okay course because you can also apply for MC after doing major in computer application.
