A short review about government. College of engineering keonjhar (Department of Civil engineering).

Placements: The branch civil engineering is established in the year 2015. It has not produced any batch of passed students yet. So you can't expect a good campus placement in the near future. The placement for other branches like Mining and Mechanical is quit good. The mining students of 2017 batch they all got placed. In this year four students from mining got placed at Vedanta at a package of 63k per month. Five students from mechanical engineering also got placed at good salary.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good but not the state of art. This college has four main three storey academic buildings, one workshop building, One boys hostel and one girls hostel. The civil engineering department has its two labs well established and two more to be establish in the near future.

Faculty: The civil engineering department has four permanent faculty, four contractual faculty and three gust faculty. The head of the department is Er. Alok Patel ( M.Tech in geotech, NIT Rkl). The principal of this college belongs to civil engineering department, he had obtained Ph.D. in geotech from IIT Roorkee. The course curriculum is fixed in accordance to Bijupatnaik university of technology (BPUT) and it is not so effective but its okay. This college is providing engineering education in seven discipline including civil engineering. The disciplines are- Mining engineering, Mineral Engineering, Metallurgy and material engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Computer Science engineering and Civil engineering. It is the only government. College in north Odisha.

Other: The annual techno cultural fest is "Utkarsh", alumni meet is "Samavesh" and annual magazine is " Radiance". The college has various clubs and societies to facilitate the students technical and nontechnical abilities.
