GEC Bharuch - Shaping engineers with knowledge, skills, and innovation.
Placements: As per my knowledge, the placement percentage of my institute is around 30%-40 % and the average package is 4 LPA, while the median package is 3.9 LPA. Placements are held by companies like Tata and other multinational companies or semi-government companies.
Infrastructure: Government Engineering College (GEC), Bharuch, is located in Bholav village, close to NH-8 and Bharuch Railway Station, making it easily accessible for students. The campus is spread across 10.68 acres and offers essential academic and residential infrastructure for engineering students. The academic facilities at GEC Bharuch are well-developed, especially for core branches like mechanical, civil, electrical, and computer engineering. The classrooms are spacious.
Faculty: The Mechanical Engineering Department at Government Engineering College (GEC), Bharuch, is supported by a team of well-qualified and experienced faculty members. Most of them hold postgraduate (M.E. /M.Tech) or doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees in core mechanical fields such as Thermal Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, and Fluid Mechanics. The faculty are actively involved in teaching, research, and mentoring students. They also participate in seminars, workshops, and training programs to keep themselves updated with the latest academic and industry developments.
Other: Government Engineering College (GEC), Bharuch, offers more than just academics in the Mechanical Engineering department. The college encourages students to actively participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities to enhance their overall personality and skills. Events such as technical quizzes, project exhibitions, poster presentations, robotics competitions, and seminars are organized regularly under departmental and institute-level technical festivals like TechFest, GTU Innovation Council GIC programs, and Prarambh.

Good infrastructure and practical learning, but it needs better industry exposure.
Placements: 95% of students were placed in my course. 13 LPA was the highest package, and 5 LPA was the average package offered in my college. GNFC, ONGC, Reliance, etc., are the top recruiting companies of my course. 70% of students got an internship from my course. Junior engineer, site supervisor, machine designer, etc., are top roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Department has smart classrooms, Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, and a resourceful library. Hostels are decent with basic amenities. Mess food is hygienic but average. Medical aid is available on campus. Good sports and indoor games facilities are provided.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good with a focus on concept clarity. Curriculum is mostly relevant and includes practical aspects. Semester exams are moderately difficult. The average pass percent is around 70%-75%.
Other: I chose BE Mechanical due to my interest in machines and design. The best part is the practical exposure through labs and workshops. It needs more software training and company tie-ups. Campus fests are lively, crowd is diverse, and extracurricular activities are well supported. Connectivity is decent.

Lack of practical knowledge, and still an old curriculum, strict attendance criteria.
Placements: The first batch from computer engineering will be passing in 2026 only, so after that, we can get ideas about it. However, there are no expectations from on-campus placement. Some of our seniors are preparing, but not all. There were no faculty members for the computer department earlier; 2 faculty members have come recently.
Infrastructure: Honestly, my favorite place is the library. Other than the fact that you can find all the books related to your branch, you can read there peacefully or prepare there for competitive exams. You can also borrow the books. In the library, PCs are also available so that any student can use them if needed. Labs are also well structured, and all the required equipment is available, as it is a government college, but some of the equipment is very old and not in a condition to be used. Mess is not available in our college; you have to buy tiffins from outside. The canteen is average.
Faculty: Only 2 faculty members are there in the computer department to date, and they are managing all the things; EC faculty members take our lecture. Honestly, our college didn't prepare or support students to be industry-ready; they are focusing on gaining marks more. Semester exams are conducted by GTU and are of a moderate level.
Other: If you come to this college, you should keep in mind that you have to do hard work by yourself to achieve something big; you cannot depend on the college. I think attendance criteria should be removed because we have to attend all the unnecessary classes too, because of which we are not able to focus on what matters for our careers.

Good, but not the best. Still worth the study.
Placements: Around 60 70% of ECE students got placed. Packages range from 3 LPA to 7 LPA, the average package offered is 4.2 LPA. Companies like TCS, Wipro, and Matrix recruited. 50% got internships in core and IT roles. Top roles were Embedded, VLSI, and Support engineering, so it pays well.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are basic, but spacious. Labs have essential ECE equipment. Wi-Fi is available but not very reliable. Library is well stocked. Hostel rooms are simple, shared, and clean. Mess food is hygienic, but repetitive. Basic medical help is available.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and supportive. Teaching quality is decent, but the theory is heavy, and self study is often needed. The curriculum is somewhat outdated but covers core topics. Semester exams are moderate. Pass percentage is high, 85 to 90%. It is not true for all facilities.

The college has very good infrastructure, but the library is very awful for students.
Placements: There are 50-60% placements in my batch, with the highest package at 18 LPA. Reliance and TCS are among the top recruiting companies. While specific to the lowest and average packages, the internship percentage and top roles aren't detailed. The overall placement rate is decent for our course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for my course and hostel is commendable. We have excellent Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the campus, well-equipped labs, spacious and air-conditioned classrooms, and a resourceful library. The hostel facilities are good, with hygienic mess food, adequate medical support, and various sports and game amenities, ensuring a comfortable and conducive learning environment for all students.
Faculty: Teachers are generally helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, contributing to good teaching quality. The course curriculum is largely relevant and updated, aiming to make students industry-ready by incorporating practical skills and current trends. Semester exams are moderately difficult, striking a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application. While the exact pass percentage varies by course and semester, it's generally maintained at a reasonable level to ensure academic standards.
Other: This time nothing .

Good and decent college with very affordable fees.
Placements: 75% of students got placed. The highest package is 16.6 LPA. The lowest is 3 LPA. The average package is 5-6 LPA. Top recruiters are Reliance, Adani, L&T, etc. Many students from the college got paid internships. Mechanical engineering students got good packages in 2023. Many got good internships.
Infrastructure: Decent infrastructure in hostel. Faculty are good. Library is above average. Food in mess is where college can improve. Classrooms are big enough for a batch of 120 students and have a seminar hall and big screens to discuss the meeting. There is good and decent campus.
Faculty: Yes, teachers of every department are very helpful. And they are also qualified from good institutes, and they are very knowledgeable. The semester exams are at a moderate level of difficulty, and the midterms are also similar. The pass percentage is about 75-80%.
Other: The course I choose because it is very valuable in future terms, and the college for this course is one of the best in the region. Events like techfest, techtonic fest, and sports week fest are very enjoyable and learning-giving.
