JEE Main registration 2026 for the January session exam will start in the 2nd week of October, tentatively. The JEE Main application form 2026 will be available online on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Below is the step-by-step procedure on how to fill JEE Main Application Form 2026.

JEE Main Application Form 2026: The National Testing Agency will start the JEE Main Registration 2026 in October. The tentative NTA JEE Mains 2026 Registration date will be October 2nd week. The JEE Main 2026 Application Form link will be available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in 2026. Candidates can apply for JEE Main 2026 only in online mode.

Candidates can check here for details on how to fill JEE Mains form 2026, application fees, last date to apply, and JEE Main eligibility criteria. Candidates who wish to appear in the exam must register for the JEE Main 2026 and submit the application form within the last date. JEE Main 2026 exam will be conducted in two sessions in January and April. NTA has also confirmed the JEE Main 2026 exam schedule for both sessionsJEE Main 2026 exam date session 1 will be in January while the second session exam will be held in April.

Documents Required for JEE Mains 2026 Registration

Candidates should have the following documents with them when filling the JEE Main application form 2026

  • Class 10 and 12 certificates (in case candidate appearing in class 12, only class 10 certificate is required)
  • Category certificates (for OBC-NCL & EWS category candidates)
  • Credit/Debit Card or Internet banking details for payment of JEE Mains form fees
  • Scanned image of passport-size colour photo and signature

Steps Involved in Filling JEE Mains Application Form 2026?

The process of filling JEE Main 2026 application form involves the following steps:

Step 1: Visit the JEE Main official website jeemain.nta.ac.in

Step 2: Click on "New Candidate Registration" link

Step 3: Fill the required details and create a password of your choice to register for the exam.

After registration, candidates will receive details of JEE Main Registration number and password in their mobile number and emails ID. Candidates need to login using their credentials to fill the JEE Main application form

Step 4: Fill essential details

Step 5: Upload documents

Step 6: Pay the JEE Mains exam fee

Take a printout of the acknowledgment page and keep it safe.

How to Fill JEE Main 2026 application form?

Below is the step-by-step procedure to fill JEE Mains 2026 application forms online on the official website of NTA. Before filling the application form, should ensure that they meet the JEE Main eligibility criteria.

Step 1: Registration

It is the first step in apply for JEE Mains exam. In this step, candidates have to visit the JEE Main official website for registration. Candidates have to provide details of name, gender, mobile phone number, email ID, address for communication, parents details, category etc. After filling all the information, candidates have to click on the submit button. They also have to create a password that will be used for future logins.

  • Visit the official website of JEE Main - https://jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Click on the online JEE Main 2026 application form
  • The registration form will open. Candidates to fill in all the required details

Step 2: Filling the online JEE Mains 2026 application form

After registration, candidates have to complete the JEE Main 2026 application form. Aspirants need to fill academic and paper (for which appearing) details in the JEE Main application form 2026 at this step.  Below are the details that the candidates should fill in the application form.  

  • Exam - Choice of paper - 1 or 2 or both. Candidates must also select the preference of exam language in which they want to appear

  • Academic details (class 11 and 12 information).
  • Exam centre city preference
 

Review all the details and make all the changes/modifications required in the application form. A pop-up window asking the students for final submissions will be displayed. If clicked 'yes' candidates will have to proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Uploading scanned images

At this step, aspirants are required to upload their scanned photograph and signature in the specifications prescribed (as mentioned in the table below) 

Before filling JEE Main 2026 application form,  candidates should have a scanned image of his/her recent photograph and signature. These scanned images are to be uploaded during the submission of the application form. Here are some important details that candidates should remember before uploading the scanned photograph and signature.

  • The photograph should be coloured or black/white (but in clear contrast) with the name of the candidate and the date of taking the photograph printed on it.
  • The photograph should not have the candidate wearing a cap or sunglasses. Spectacles are allowed. Polaroid photos are not acceptable.
  • Candidates with an unclear photograph will be rejected.
  • Candidates are advised to reserve 6-8 identical photographs for all future purposes including the seat allocation and admission process.

Step 4: Pay the JEE Main 2026 application fees

  • The candidates can pay the application fees in online mode only
  • For online payment, candidates can pay through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/Paytm/UPI

JEE Main 2026 application fee

JEE Main 2026 application fee will be notified soon. The fee was raised for all categories and for both Indian and Outside India candidates in 2025. It must be noted that for candidates opting for a single paper and candidates opting for multiple papers, the application fee is different.

Step 4: Print the confirmation page

The last step is to take four printouts of the confirmation page, after the successful payment of JEE Main 2026 application fees. Candidates must keep this acknowledgment page till the admission process is over. This is how the JEE Main application form 2026 exam confirmation page will look like:

Candidates who successfully apply will be able to download JEE Main admit card 2026. Without the JEE admit card, candidates will not be allowed to sit for the examination.

JEE Main 2026 Application Form Correction

The NTA will provide the facility of JEE Main form correction 2026 after the application process concludes. Candidates must note that only a few fields in the filled application forms can be edited during the correction window. It is thus advised to be careful while filling the application form and do not make any mistakes while filling details.

Yes. Students with valid JEE Main scores can apply for admissions through the WBJEE counselling. However, these students will be eligible for allotment only in the 10% approved seats offered by the self-financing colleges and institutes participating in the state-level counselling.
