B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2025
4.2
4Placements5Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Supportive faculty, decent placements, and a peaceful campus environment.
Placements: In our college, around 55% of students in CSE get placed. The highest package is 12 LPA, the average is 3.2 LPA, and the lowest is around 2 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, and BEL. Around 40% get internships in startups and local firms as developers or analysts.
Infrastructure: The college provides good Wi-Fi, decent labs and classrooms, and a well-stocked library to support academics. The hostel is basic but livable, the mess food is average, and medical help is nearby. Sports facilities include a cricket ground, volleyball court, and indoor games.
Faculty: Our faculty is helpful and well-qualified, with good subject knowledge. The curriculum is VTU-prescribed and fairly relevant but needs more industry exposure. Exams are moderately difficult. The pass percentage is around 85%, with proper support from the staff.
Other: I chose Computer Science Engineering due to my interest in technology and its vast career opportunities. The best part of the course is the coding culture, helpful faculty, and access to technical resources. However, I feel there should be more industry collaborations and hands-on training. The campus has a calm and green environment, and students are friendly and cooperative. Events like technical fests and cultural activities are conducted annually, adding to the college experience. Scholarship opportunities are available for deserving students. Overall, it's a good place to learn, but improving industry exposure would make it even better.

It is an above-average college because of placements, experienced lecturers, and infrastructure.
Placements: The highest salary package offered is 5 LPA, the lowest is 1 LPA, and the average is 3 LPA. Talented students get placements. Mechanical students get fewer placements.
Infrastructure: The library, labs, and classrooms are excellent. The hostel is under construction. All of the instruments and machines are in good working order. All the books related to engineering are available in the library.
Faculty: The teachers are excellent and experienced. They are helpful & they give us 100% effort for our bright future.
Other: I chose this course because I did not score well in KCET. NSS and NCC activities, as well as the annual festival, are held. SSP scholarship is provided by the government.

The best Government Engineering College in Karnataka and also one of the top colleges in Tier-2.
Placements: As of now, in this year, no one is placed for a job in any of the companies through college campus placements, and we got internship opportunities in training institutes through CSR drives happened in our college, including institutes like Pentagon Space, Tap Academy, Vstand4u Solutions, Palle Technologies, Global Quest Technologies, Q Spiders. For Pentagon, 12 students are selected, including me. For others, I don't know the exact count. As of now, around 45 students have been selected for internships in the above-mentioned institutes out of 69 students. This is all about placements in our college for now.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure was good in case of classrooms, smart classrooms, and labs, but not completely equipped. Like, we have systems in labs, but we don't have internet connections in labs or smart classrooms. Other than internet and power supply ports to all the students in smart classrooms are not there. Talking about the hostel, the same problem is there—no Wi-Fi is provided. If students want to use their mobile data, they need to struggle as proper network is not available in the hostel. The mess and hostel rooms are good with necessary items like a cot, cupboard.
Faculty: Course curriculum is outdated, but still, they are teaching the same. For our juniors, the curriculum is a bit changed, and some new things have been added which were needed. Talking about the faculty members also, the same issue: some faculty members are not updated to the latest technologies, and some are very good and also updated to the latest technologies. Talking about exams, if we study previous year papers, we can easily score above 75%.
Other: As it's a Government college, there are not many extracurricular activities, but college fest and Kannada Rajyotsava are celebrated in a good manner, and the crowd will be always average. Only on exam and test days will the full crowd be present. There is still more improvement needed in my course, including updating the syllabus as well as the way of teaching by including practicals for each and every theory concept they learn and also keeping students active in what they are learning by providing real-time problems, projects, etc. I chose this course because I was passionate about computers and this college because of the budget.

Review of Government Engineering College, Hassan.
Placements: There were no placements in our college. We had to attend off-campus interviews. We were trained to attend the off-campus drives. The highest salary package offered was 4 Lacs per annum, and the lowest package offered was 1.5 Lacs per annum. The training was good and helped most of us to get placed in good companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility was provided only in the software labs. Classrooms were very spacious and well ventilated. The library was vast with a good number of academic books. A sports meet is held once in a year. Medical camps like eye check-up and blood donation camps were held.
Faculty: Teachers were well qualified and knowledgeable. They had a vast knowledge of their subjects. Their teaching was amazing and interesting too. The teaching methods involved both theoretical and practical training. We got good exposure to our subjects.
Other: All important dates were marked and celebrated. The campus had a good number of students. Scholarships were granted for students.

College has good teachers and average infrastructure.
Placements: 15% of students got placed at one company. The salary package is 11 LPA. BEL is the only and top recruitment company. More than 50% of students got placed with many internship offering companies in CSR drives. I guess the top role offered in our course is Deputy Manager.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi is available, there are projectors in many classes. Lab conditions are average. The library is very well-facilitated and has many resources. Has even access to online resources for free, which would have been paid for otherwise, like IEEE and many more research pages. Classrooms are well-equipped with comfortable benches to sit, stages, a huge blackboard, and whiteboards for projecting. The hostel has good facilities too. Good food with non-vegetarian food once a week. College has washing machine facilities (should pay) and good water facilities with solar. No canteen or medical facilities are available, but it has a huge and best indoor and outdoor stadium.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and helpful. The course curriculum is followed based on VTU, as the college comes under VTU. A course curriculum is not enough to make students industry-ready. Semester exams depend on the students' capabilities. The pass percentage is, as usual, 18 for 50 and 36 for 100.
Other: Fests are simple yet enjoyable, sometimes. A course is not enough to make students industry-ready.

College is good compare all government colleges.
Placements: In this college, internships are available but not mandatory. However, our seniors only go to training centers for unpaid internships. Some seniors do go off campus and can expect to earn between 6 and 10 lakhs per annum as a web developer.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is good. There is a hostel for both boys and girls, but boys must pay a monthly mess fee of INR 2510. A one-time caution deposit of INR 5580 is required during the first semester.
Faculty: The professors in my department are all good, and the Head of Department is very helpful. The college follows VTU's timetable and guidelines. VTU exams are not that tough, but we need to work hard and not rely on others. We also need to make sure we have perfect attendance, which will get us full internal marks. The semester-end exams are conducted very strictly, and the college is surrounded by cameras.
Other: The college doesn't schedule hackathons, but if enough students ask the principal, they will arrange one. The college only has two major fests: Kannada Rajyotsava and the college fest. The freshers party is good.
