Review of Government Law College, Kozhikode.
Placements: The university is in the 21st position in NIRF. The campus is spread over in a large area of 500 acres. About 60% of the students from our course get placed. The highest salary package offered in our course was 5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 1.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Jio and HDFC Bank visit our campus for placements.
Infrastructure: The food is available on the campus. In addition to the main canteen, there are four cafeterias in various locations of the university to cater to the need of students, staff members, and visitors. The library has a collection of about 90,000 books, subscriptions, 218 journals, and 10 newspapers.
Faculty: It is the largest university in Kerala. It was established in the year 1968, and it is the second university to be set up in Kerala. The university aims to nurture excellence in education and research in its catchment areas of Northern Kerala, historically consigned to the periphery of Kerala's academic map. The university lays its emphasis on fostering quality human resources and promoting productive research that benefits both local communities and wider humanity. The university was created through a government plan bifurcating Kerala University.
Other: The college will not give sufficient funds for events as students will raise funds. There is no crowd for any programs that are conducted on the campus.

Review of Government Law College, Kozhikode.
Placements: A few students of previous batches have been placed in in-house offices. With an average package of 1 Lac. Internship opportunities are to be fetched by the students themselves. Teachers are helpful in giving you guidance regarding various opportunities.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are good, with one of the best libraries in Kerala. New building facilities are on their way. Wi-Fi is available.
The sports room is available and active. Hostel is available only after the 1st year. PGs are abundant. Both men's and women's hostels are close to the college campus.
Faculty: Qualified and professional faculty members are there. The college has a lot of faculty members. However, there won't be classes throughout the day. Syllabus and exams are based on the University of Calicut's guidelines. Exams used to be delayed, but now they are being conducted on time.
Other: Extracurricular activities and moot court participation are all good.

Government Law College, Kozhikode has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:

| LL.B. | Candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the board of higher secondary education Kerala or any other examination recognised by the Universities in Kerala or equivalent. Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 45% marks. Candidate belonging to socially and educationally backward classes need 42% and for SC/ST 40%. Candidate who have obtained +2 Higher Secondary pass certificate or first degree certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method can also apply. Candidate who have obtained 10 +2 or graduation/post-graduation through open universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission. Candidate must have completed 17 years of age, as on 31.12.2021. Candidate who are appearing/appeared for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply on provisional basis. |
