Review of Government Medical College, Kollam.
Placements: 110 students are there in our batch. After the completion of a four-year course, we got placed as house surgeons in our hospital. After the completion of the one-year internship, we can attend NEET PG exams and pursue higher studies. Apart from 2-3 students who fail exams, other passed students are placed as house surgeons.
Infrastructure: Our college has AC and non-AC classrooms with Wi-Fi. It has fully furnished study rooms and a library. It has above average hostels with 4 sharing rooms. Common toilets, washing machines, heaters, a gym, and a sports room are available in the hostel. The mess is run by second-year MBBS students. Quality food is ensured and boiled water is provided.
Faculty: We get excellent teaching from professional doctors. It makes students easy to study. We have three sessional exams and one university exam along with practical. Exams are moderate to hard. Few students fail, and they can attend exams and improve their scores.
Other: I would like to help others and know more about how diseases can be cured. It is a profession in which we need more knowledge, empathy, kindness, and good communication skills. Government scholarships are given. Many programs and fests are arranged in the college.

Satisfied with the faculty members and infrastructure.
Placements: Nearly 100 doctors are being passed out from our college each year. Yearly pass percentage is 100%. Highly professional teachers are recruited every year. Each year MBBS doctors are qualified with skills and knowledge. Most of them after passing out from our college are now recruited in the army also.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are really good. Our college has a relatively large library having centralized AC. They are provided with large study halls. Hostels are well-equipped with Wi-Fi. Quality of food available in canteen is good. Our college encourages both arts and education.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. A high quality of education is being provided. Semester exams are relatively easy and the pass percentage of our college is 100%. Any time we can approach our mentors for help. The entire program is also there for student support.
Other: It was my passion to pursue MBBS. We could save lives and there are a lot of opportunities as doctors both inside and outside the country. It will be better if the work pressure is reduced. Each year we will granted scholarships. College encourages arts, sports along with studies.

Review of Government Medical College, Kollam.
Placements: We all are given a house surgeon period to practice medicine. Some people have the ESIC bond for a year after completion of the course. But there are no campus placements. Being in a medical course, it normally does not have campus placements. So I guess it is fine.
Infrastructure: The institution is equipped enough for an undergraduate level of training. There is enough infrastructure for a PG course. Non-clinical subjects are good for post-graduate courses. It does have a fully functional lab, pathology department, etc. Still, it lacks MRI machines. Hostels are above average. It does provide the kitchen and large rooms occupied by only 3 people. It provides everyone with a table, bed, nightstand, and almirah.
Faculty: Faculty members are experienced in training new students. They are good. The number of faculty members is not enough to teach and run a hospital. The course curriculum is hectic. They change it in the middle of the academic year, but I suppose that it is the university that decides these kinds of things. Exams are tough with 4 sections in theory that are essay, short essay, short answers, and 1 mark questions with MCQ, single response questions, multiple response questions, assertion and reason type of questions, and clinical scenario-based questions. It also lacks the number of faculty members.
Other: I chose this course because I always wanted to pursue medical science, and the admission was based on the NEET entrance examination. It is a budding college and I strongly believe that it would become a well established college in the foreseeable future. A new super specialty block is under construction and the management is doing the best it can with the available resources.

It is a really good college to get your MBBS degree, and the faculty members are mostly super nice.
Placements: Since it is a medical college and you are getting an MBBS, you will probably get a good job. Most of my seniors are doing PGs. I am still in college, but I have seen my seniors working in good hospitals. Some of them have even chosen teaching professions.
Infrastructure:
The infrastructure is pretty good. Most of the lecture halls have AC. There is also enough space and chairs for all students. Smart classrooms are set up in most of the lecture halls. There is a separate exam hall. The hospital setting is also really good. There is no basketball court or proper ground available.
Faculty:
Faculty members are really good. Most of them try to make us better human beings too; they always insist on making us good doctors. They are also always ready to help with non-academic mental stress. An extra perk is that they kind of take care of your health for free. Haha, medicos.
Other: I really want to be a doctor, that's why I chose this profession. You need to qualify for the NEET exam to get into any government college. Talking about campus life, it is not really comparable to other medical colleges in Kerala, like Alappuzha or Kozhikode, but this campus does conduct many events and fun programs. The surroundings are fine, but not the best. There is an eGrantz scholarship for some students. Also, the toppers of each subject get scholarships.

A very good college in terms of infrastructure, faculty members, study environment, etc.
Placements: Our college has our first batch doing house surgery right now. After completing the internship, they will pursue their career as registered medical practitioners and work wherever they would like. Many are preparing to go abroad as well. The 2017 batch will complete their internship by next year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is pretty good. The entire campus was built under ESIC, so one can expect a touch of government buildings everywhere. The building construction is completely furnished and the hospital and lecture halls are completely air-conditioned. The hostels have Wi-Fi and are very spacious.
Faculty: Faculty members are very supportive and strict at the same time. They are all ready to take classes and guide us. The semester pass percentages are very high and account for more than 90% almost all the time. The curriculum is also so good in building good futures for doctors.
Other: There are various clubs for extracurricular activities.
