HIMT Chennai BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
At HIMT Chennai, the BTech course is provided by the affiliated Indian Maritime University for a duration of 4 years, divided into 8 semesters, and offered in full-time mode. BTech at HIMT is offered in only one specialisation, i.e., Marine Engineering. Moreover, this course is approved by the D.G. Shipping, Govt. of India. - It is strongly recommended that candidates seeking admission to BTech in Marine Engineering must have a passport.
The college also offers BTech in Marine Engineering Lateral Entry for three years. To get admission into this course, candidates must have completed the first year in either Mechanical or Electrical engineering/ diploma in the relevant stream with a minimum of 55% to 60% aggregate + IMU CET rank.
